Geek Consumption
Advances in medicine - advances in any technology - make for good television.??It is always the geek that turns the idea into reality.? They are the saviors who turns "hey, can you get me this information" into "we tracked you down - come out with your hands up."? They come up with the procedure developed in a secret government lab can resurrect a dead spy. They design? prosthesis that can make a hero stronger and faster.? And they are the ones who identify?obscure diseases can?kill a patient or be cured in under 60 minutes.
It doesn't matter?what the experts say, geeks - be they computer, academic, or medical - have forever altered the television landscape.?? Their shows grow exponentially and the public can't get enough.
They have broadened the scope of the crime and medical genres beyond cops and doctor-nurse flings.? They have brought science to the forefront of the fights against crime and disease.? And most importantly,?they have introduced a new breed of characters to the audience.? They are characters?who let us look behind the scenes and?who shed light on what happens between the crime and the capture.
The Geeks.? Long may they reign.

Dr. Gregory House, House, M.D.? If there have been two people diagnosed with a disease that has stumped the medical world for decades, House will have the third.? With more memory than a roomful of Crays, a couple of symptoms are more than enough to provide a diagnosis and allow him to keep the dual crowns of Grumpiest and Smartest Doctor on TV.

I used to love Charlie on Numbers, but the past year or so he seems to have gone from geeky young and hip professor to a much more serious character. I want the fun Charlie back!
I adore Garcia, and the episodes 2 season ago where she was shot and the aftermath were painful to watch, heartbreaking really- but probably my fave episodes so far. I was hoping "Xander" might become more of a regular character, so Garcia could have someone to play with.

Consumption was actually the name given to Tuberculosis, so called because people seemed to beconsumed from within by the disease.

I adore Garcia and of course House is the king of – well – everything, including geekdom. However, what about Abby in NCIS? IMO she was the original that Garcia was modelled on and Abby totally rocks.
Then of course there's McGee (also NCIS, also genius geek) Topher (Dollhouse) don't forget Garcia's colleague Dr Spencer Grey (genius/geek/agent/HOT!), Masuka (Dexter) and then there was Zach from Bones (sniff) presently languishing in the funny farm) and alllllll the other squints (including their queen – Dr Temperence Brennan.)
Give Xander a regular role with Garcia too, please, he is adorable as a computer genius just as he was as a Scooby.
Definitely another geek fan. Good choices! I didn't put Dr. Spenser Reed on because I already had one from Criminal Minds. I seriously considered Abby but I like Chloe a little more (and I was trying not to use the more CSI-like characters). Hope you liked it.
