Alec Baldwin has been released from the hospital after a mysterious 911 call resulted in the 30 Rock star being taken in by ambulance early this morning.  The call, placed by this daughter, has set off a ton of speculation over just why Baldwin was brought to the hospital to begin with.

According to Reuters, Baldwin's daughter Ireland, who was at the center of the whole thoughtless-little-pig scandal,  called 911 after midnight to report a domestic dispute with her father.  At the same time, she reportedly told the dispatcher that she was afraid Alec Baldwin would harm himself, prompting 911 to dispatch paramedics to his residence.  Baldwin was released after about an hour at the hospital.

Baldwin's spin doctors have been fast at work on this report, though - claiming that whole 'harming himself' part of the report is a mistake on somebody's behalf.  Who this mysterious someone is, nobody knows, but for the time being it appears that Baldwin is back to work and everything is on track for his co-hosting gig with Steve Martin at the Oscars in March.

This incident should be no big deal for Baldwin.  He had contemplated retiring from acting following a pretty distasteful private blow-out with his daughter, only to recover quite nicely in the public world and continuing on as a crowd pleaser in 30 Rock.
