So what was last night’s lesson on 90210? The art of manipulation. If you can manipulate then you are in good hands, if you are the manipulated then you are in a mess of trouble. But if you are both a manipulator and the manipulated then this is where that bitch karma kicks in and nice and pretty are not in her vocabulary.
Sit down, kids, because class is in session!
Jackie’s Song
Silver is up in arms about Jackie’s cancer and is debating to tell Kelly. When she finally does tell Kelly, Silver is shocked by Kelly’s response, which was pretty much, “Ok and…?” Kelly doesn’t want Silver involved with any drama dealing with Jackie and makes Silver promise to not get involved.
So Silver visits Jackie the next day and finds out that Jackie has not only had cancer since last year, but has had the lump removed and chemo as well, although it apparently didn’t help. Silver is upset about what she said during the AA meeting and Jackie assures her that everything is OK. Jackie then asks Silver to move back in with her, which surprises me, more than it does Silver.
Silver takes care of her mother and keeps it from Kelly. Enter Ryan Matthews, who spills the beans to Kelly in the name of homework, which he could have just given to Adrianna, who told him of Silver’s whereabouts. Then again it would have been stupid to not give the homework to Kelly since Silver stays with Kelly, but Adrianna could have still covered better for Silver.
See how Ryan Matthews complicates things?
Anyway, Kelly marches her behind over to Jackie’s place and demands that if Jackie wants to finally be a mother to Silver that she needs to leave Silver alone. Kelly’s reasoning, which is Silver’s bipolar disorder, is sound, but is it a good excuse for Kelly to use? Or is it a way to bring Silver’s bipolar issue back into play? Hmm… By the way, the scene where we saw Jackie’s hair falling out got a huge gasp and damn near a tear out of me.
Damn them…
When Silver returns home she sees Jackie standing outside her door. Jackie tells Silver that she thought about what Kelly told her and agrees that she should stay away from Silver. Silver is enraged and lights into Kelly, who tells her that Jackie is intense and that she could damage all the progress Silver has done with the bipolar issue.
Silver later shows up at Jackie’s door with a bag of clothes.
That Silver is a rebellious one…
But is Jackie being a manipulator and Silver is the manipulated? Or is Kelly the manipulator?
Annie and the Battle for Male Dominance
Jasper invites Annie to a movie date, but when Mark the senior gets grief from his friends on how Annie “dumped” him for the weird kid, Mark has to rebalance the scales.
Mark approaches Annie, who doesn’t want to have anything to deal with him, and warns her about Jasper’s lunatic tendencies
and that she should be careful. For some reason this puts the fear of GOD into Annie now rather than earlier. So Annie blows off Jasper and their date with lies and hops in the van with Mark the first chance she gets. After a seemingly decent dinner date, Mark then tries to take advantage of Annie. But out of nowhere, Jasper shows up and saves the day. Oh, so he’s stalking her now? But Annie is oblivious to this fact and goes on a walk with Jasper, who she reveals to that she did let Mark’s warnings get to her, which included that Jasper supposedly pulled a knife on someone. Annie tells Jasper that she is not scared of him now. But later, Jasper appears at Mark’s house, pulls out a knife and scratches Mark’s car and slashes his tires. Annie, wake the hell up!
Easily, Annie is the manipulated in this equation…
Jen Clark, Queen Manipulator
While at a horse stable, a stable hand named Eduardo hits on Jen, but Jen’s eyes are on the prize horse for sale that costs a good penny and could bring fortune to it’s owner. Jen later meets up with Naomi and the two discuss Jen’s divorce proceedings, which Jen says she will need about $100,000 dollars to get a great lawyer to help her with the iron-clad prenup she signed. Now, I am praying that Naomi isn’t stupid enough to believe that a divorce would cost that much, and she doesn’t, thank GOD. Naomi is looking at costs since she would be footing this bill. But Jen isn’t let down easily and hits Naomi where it hurts by bringing up Liam being the sole reason Naomi is not one to go to for relationship advice.
Jen later apologizes to Naomi before telling her that she thinks its best to move out and let Naomi live her life. Naomi doesn’t want this and wonders how Jen will survive, but if you can’t see this ruse by now then you need your ass kicked, Naomi. But of course, Jen spins the Wheel of Manipulation so well that Naomi cuts a check for the $100,000.
Later at the stables, Jen gloats on how she has just gotten a generous gift and now has an extra 100 grand to spend, i.e. the prized horse. Dammit, Naomi…
Jen then brings Naomi to meet the horse that will bring them good fortune. I wonder if Naomi knows that she actually bought this horse, but the uninterested look on Naomi’s face solidifies my disdain for the poor girl.
Do I even have to SAY who the manipulated is in this equation?
Harry Wilson and Ryan Matthews Go To A Bar
So we have to deal with the ‘adults’ again and I use the term ‘adults’ loosely.
No manipulation here as Harry finally catches up with Kelly, who he believes been avoiding him. Harry, your married. Give it a rest.
Meanwhile, Ryan Matthews gets a blow from Jen when she tells him that what they have is just a friends with benefits deal and that he can’t get jealous when other men call her.
Harry later overhears Ryan Matthews talking to someone on his cell about his wingman leaving him hanging. Harry enlists himself as Ryan Matthews’ wingman replacement. Oh, God here we go…
Harry gets drunk as a skunk and Ryan Matthews doesn’t get a chance to woo the girl he was trying to talk to, because of having to hear Harry whine about everything from Annie’s behavior to his confusion over Kelly.
Later, while Harry is trying to fix himself a Tabitha Wilson hangover remedy drink, Debbie comes in to help him before he made a big mess. When she finishes, he says “Thanks, Kelly!” without thinking twice or realizing what he just said. Debbie’s eyes buck.
Oh. Hell.
Adrianna, Meet Karma...
Navid and Adrianna are on a date at the Beach Club and are discussing the menu, when Adrianna sees Teddy and just can’t take it anymore.
She breaks up with a clueless Navid, who for the rest of the episode wonders if it’s something he said about the getting shrimp or a wild Alaskan salmon. It’s pathetic, but not as pathetic as Adrianna’s excuse was, which included her losing her agent by not acting anymore and that she needs her own space to find herself before she is just known as “Navid’s girlfriend”.
But as soon as she gets the chance, Adrianna texts Teddy about her new relationship status and he eagerly wants to hang out. Navid, on the other hand mopes to anyone who will listen.
While on a date, Adrianna and Teddy kiss and cuddle until Adrianna says the word “relationship”, which brings that irksome
smile off of Teddy’s face. This time, Teddy plays the role of Jen Clark and Adrianna is Ryan Matthews as Teddy tells Adrianna that he doesn’t do relationships, which is when karma open palm smacks down Adrianna’s face. She feels so stupid that she goes and tells Naomi, who says that Navid can’t be over Adrianna that quick and that Adrianna should just go talk to him. Meanwhile, Navid’s latest sympathetic ear is none other than Teddy himself, who looks guilty by the second. Later at the Beach Club, Adrianna approaches Navid about mending their relationship, but gets another open palm smack down from Navid, who knows about the kiss between Adrianna and Teddy. Adrianna thinks Silver snitched on her, but after Navid says he doesn’t want anything else to do with her, he reveals that it was TEDDY who told him about the kiss. ANOTHER open palm smack down from karma! I mean Adrianna should have felt like a dog when he gets popped in the nose with a newspaper, it was that brutal.
Randomness
Why in God’s name did we have to see Dixon and Sasha (guest star Mekia Cox) during the closing moments of the show? They didn’t have a storyline tonight! Why bother wasting our time? UGHHH!!!
But Dixon brought up a good question last night: What the hell is under Liam’s tarp? And why is he so intent on no one seeing it? Of course, it’s the thing he started building on several episodes ago, but what is it? Hmmm….
Does Naomi not have an accountant? I bet she is flat broke and doesn’t even know it. Plus, she’s not even 18 yet so how does she get a hold of that money? Is Jen her legal guardian now? And if so, why haven’t their parents been arrested for sheer negligence yet? Dylan McKay’s predicament was one thing, but at least he had Jim Walsh as his accountant. Naomi just has hearsay when it comes to her finances. Oy vey!
Same time next week, class!
I was surprised when Jackie asked Silver to move home. And yeah that scene where Jackie jumps to put on her head was a gasp moment but not a creepy moment like the time Kimberly took her wig off on Melrose Place revealing that huge scar. That is just burned into my brain and I haven't watched the original in years although I'm thinking I might. I get why Kelly's being protective but she's being a bit overly. She shouldn't forbid Silver from seeing her but having her move in just sounds like a disaster.
I just want to slap some sense into Naomi. Now I make no secret about hating Annie but I found it odd that she became so terrifed of Jasper only to be all cozy with him after he saves her without even thinking about the fact that he was following her. I was thinking something was off about the guy but strangely enough I started liking him and it looks like he might have a few screws loose. At least he didn't use the knife on Mark. Even Mark doesn't deserve that. Maybe a kick in the crotch.
I had a feeling something would happen. Harry was funny drunk though. Poor Deb and Harry didn't have a clue that he called her Kelly. Actually I think I'm glad he's on this instead of Melrose Place because I'm really liking Harry. Watch out Deb your husband's on the prowl. I guess it could have slipped his mind that he's married. And yes that would be sarcasm which doesn't always work well when it happens to be written down or rather typed on I guess would be more accurate.
Liam and his tarp actually reminds me of TC and his shed on Passions. He didn't want people to go in there and when it finally did get revealed it was a bit of a letdown. Now I'm wondering about things like pocketwatches, amber crystals, and now tarps. Now I'm going to shut up because I've found out firsthand that comments can have a limit that I have reached at places.

LOL, Barbara, I understand your plight, but Naomi HAS TO BE BROKE by now! Without a responsible guardian looking over here, this girl is finished before she has even stepped out into the world! And I am rewatching MP now and haven't gotten to Kimberly's wig moment. I think I have two discs left before I get to it.

What happened to Liam and the recording of Jen? Is he gonna show Naomi or did he just decide to leave it be

Katy, the idiot deleted the recording after he saw Naomi with another guy, who she was not 'dating' mind you. When he deleted evidence, I wanted to delete him from the cast.
