This past season, CBS had a hit on their hands with a remake version of Hawaii Five-O. ABC is hoping for the same with their new pilot, Charlie's Angels.
The original Charlie's Angels show aired in the 1970s, and starred Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett and Jaclyn Smith. Recently, two Charlie's Angels movies (starring Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu) were released.
ABC's new Charlie's Angels stars Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights), Annie Ilonzeh (General Hospital) and Rachel Taylor (Grey's Anatomy). The remake of the show will be set in Miami and Drew Barrymore is an executive producer of the series. Ramon Rodriguez has been cast as Bosley and Robert Wagner will be the voice of Charlie. Alfred Gough and Miles Millar wrote the script.
The new Angels will all be former criminals, brought together by Bosley as a chance for redemption. And unlike the movies, which were fairly campy, the show will reportedly have a more serious tone. As well, expect the series to be very episodic. According to EW, while there may be a few serialized storylines, most of the series will have self-contained episodes, with the girls taking on a new case each week.

I liked Charlie's Angels because the girls were beautiful, but also dynamic and distinctly different from one another. Looking at this pic I predict canceled in one season or less. These women look like an ad for feminine hygiene products, they certainly don't look interesting or individualistic. There's enough eyecandy on tv already.
