Dancing with the Stars Season 12 Rumors: Tea Partier & Wrestler? Plus Pro Cast Update

Well, we just can't get through ONE day without Dancing with the Stars Season 12 rumors, can we? Let's see what the mill has churned out now:

Christine O'Donnell � This one made me heartsick. How many of us fans appealed to the show to keep the politics OUT of it, since 'you know who' appeared last season? If this new rumor is to be believed, our cries fell on deaf ears. A Facebook page under the name Christine O'Donnell for US Senate and a Twitter account under the name @ODonnellforDE posted the following on Monday, February 21:

I just got the Official "Ask" from Dancing With The Stars !!
Although I am utterly flattered, my initial thought was to decline, as 2 year old nephew has more rhythm than me, and my two left feet!!
However Eileen thinks i should do it.

I was about to brush this one off, happy to convince myself it was a fake because this Twitter account is not verified, has no picture, and has only 35 followers. Another Twitter account, @ChristineOD, has her photo and thousands of followers. Why is it not posted there? Then, hours later, this account tweets:

@ChristineOD Christine O'Donnell: The facebook comments about Dancing w The Stars list great pros and cons. Thank you for your input. Still undecided. Book comes first.

Well that burst my balloon! I am surprised though that DWTS would wait until this late in the game to make an initial offer to someone. Are they scrambling to fill spots or is this timing normal for them?

Chris Jericho � This one is fast making the rounds of the media outlets. A friend of the WWE star, Eddie Trunk, said recently: 'Congrats to my bud and what he will be announcing he is doing next will be a shocker. I'll leave it at that.'Bleacherreport.com says Jericho is a leading candidate to be cast on the show. Jericho himself says his announcement has nothing to do with Dancing with the Stars; however, he didn't say he would NOT be part of the cast. Read his recent interview here in which he addresses the rumor.

Jennifer Beals - Well this one is an uneqivocal no straight from the horse's mouth. "I am not a dancer," Beals recently told People.com. "They asked me and I said 'No.' You could back up a truck to my door filled with cash and I wouldn't do it." And remember Flashdance fans, we found out after the movie came out that a body double was used for Jennifer's dance scenes. No Jennifer Grey channeling here.

Pro Cast update:

This weekend, Louis Van Amstel took to Twitter to let us know he's shopping in New York and, maybe gave us yet another hint?

@LouisVanAmstel: I love shopping in NYC...woohooo....my credit card doesn't. Oh well, I gotta get new clothes for rehearsals....:-)

We don't know of anything else on his schedule he needs to rehearse for, so we hope this is part two of his "good news" tweet. Over on Facebook, Mark Ballas posted 'Excited'according to his Twitter fansite BewitchBallas:

Cheryl Burke appeared on Joy Behar's show this week, and I think she slipped! Discussing her career on DWTS, Cheryl said for her and fellow pro Tony Dovolani, "it will be our 11th season" -- Cheryl didn't appear on Season 1. Aha!!! She gave us two for one!

Less than a week away now from the official annoucement on February 28. The DWTS Season 12 rumor mill is operating on a daily schedule, and we'll be keeping tabs on the most interesting ones right here!
