Deadline is reporting that Jay Mohr (Jerry Maguire) has landed a role on the upcoming ABC sitcom Suburgatory, where the comedy veteran will be playing a character that models himself after Donald Trump and Don Draper. Mohr's character, named Steven Royce, is married to Cheryl Hines' Dallas, a shallow suburbanite with her sights set on single dad George (Jeremy Sisto).
Jay Mohr most recently appeared in an episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent as a Charlie Sheen-like bad boy wreaking havoc on all those around him. His past TV credits include Gary Unmarried, Ghost Whisperer, and cult classic Action.
Telling the story of a divorced dad moving with his daughter from the city to a Stepford-esque suburb, Suburgatory also stars Jane Levy (Shameless), Alan Tudyk (Firefly), Allie Grant (Weeds), and Rex Lee (Entourage), and will be premiering Wednesday, September 28th at 8:30.
