Before Sarah Michelle Gellar was fighting vampires on a little WB show called Buffy, she was fighting Susan Lucci on ABC's All My Children.  It wasn't her first TV gig, but it was probably her biggest break when she was younger.  At today's TCA press tour panel for her new CW show, Ringer, Gellar confirmed that she plans to return to All My Children for one day.

The ABC soap will be ending its decades-long run on September 23.  There's been rumors that it could move to a cable channel or even continue online.  But no definitive plans have been announced at this point.  Before it ends, however, several former cast members will be returning.  Among them is Josh Duhamel (Leo Du Pres), Eva La Rue (Maria Santos), Thorsten Kaye (Zach Slater), Carol Burnett (Verla Grubbs), Kate Collins (Janet Green), Jennifer Bassey (Marion Chandler), Melissa Claire Egan (Annie Chandler) and Leven Rambin (Lily Montgomery).

Now Gellar has announced that she'll also be returning.  But don't expect her to reprise her role as Kendall Hart, which is currently being played by Alicia Minshew.  Gellar hasn't been able to confirm exactly what role she'll be playing, but she does plan to take a one-day break from shooting Ringer to do a guest appearance on All My Children before the soap officially ends.
