American Horror Story Renewed for Season 2 by FX

In a bit of perfect timing, FX has announced a second season renewal for American Horror Story, its divisive haunted house drama from the minds of Glee creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. It's been a foregone conclusion that the show would be receiving a renewal, considering that it climbed to its highest ratings yet in last week's Halloween episode and critical reception has improved slightly since the polarizing pilot. Season two of American Horror Story, consisting of 13 episodes, will be airing fall 2012.

American Horror Story follows the Harmon family, as Ben (Dylan McDermott), Vivien (Connie Britton), and Violet (Taissa Farmiga) have moved into the infamous Murder House, a location that has seem brutality in all its forms since it was erected in the 1920s. They've had to deal with nosy neighbors (Jessica Lange), creepy patients, infidelity, a horrific home invasion, and unexplainable events since they arrived in the neighborhood, so the family has to find some way to sell the house before it's too late.

American Horror Story airs Wednesdays at 10:00 on FX. The show will be wrapping up on December 21st with back-to-back episodes, but first, you can catch the first four hours (and 10 minutes) of terror as FX will be airing a marathon tonight starting at 10:00.

Have you been watching American Horror Story this season? Do you think it's gotten better or worse since its pilot? What do you think will happen this season?
