American Horror Story Season Two: New Cast, New Horror Story

American Horror StoryAmerican Horror Story...we forgive you.

Hot off of what seemed to be a season long horror movie, American Horror Story ended its first season with a finale that really closed the doors for its main characters, the Harmon Family, and their cavalcade of ghosts that resided in the House. Now, Ryan Murphy has clarified our fears by confirming that last night's finale was indeed the last time we will see the Harmon family. And to be frankly honest, we are surprisingly okay with that.

Andrea Reiher of Zap2It had the luxury to sit in on a conference where Murphy discussed the end of the Harmons' story and how viewers should view each future season of American Horror Story.

"The only thing I guess I will say about that is next year of the show, every season of the show, will be a different haunting," says Murphy explained to the press. "...Just like this year, every season of the show will have a beginning, a middle and an end."

Murphy went on to state that while Dylan McDermott and Connie Britton will not be reprising their roles for the second season of American Horror Story, other actors from the first season might pop up next year albeit as "different creatures and monsters."

While Murphy remained cryptic about just which actor/character would return for season two, he did assure us that the info about next season, including the new theme (this season focused on 'infidelity'), the new cast, and the new story will all be revealed in February 2012.

Even though the "season long anthology" twist is kind of unprecedented, American Horror Story is not the first show to use same actors playing different characters. CBS's Scene of the Crime, a Stephen J. Cannell produced crime series, featured a regular cast who portrayed different characters in different cases in each episode. The show lasted one season, but let's pray American Horror Story doesn't meet the same fate.

After hearing Ryan Murphy's announcement on the future of American Horror Story, my faith in the series has been restored and quadrupled, but I'm not going to let my expectations get the best of me this time around. Despite my iron clad attachment to the Harmon Family and the ghostly inhabitants of the Murder House, I've already begun to count down the days to February to see just what exactly Ryan Murphy and company has in store.

Now that I have displayed my renewed love for the show, I want to hear from you guys.  Are you excited about the new angle for American Horror Story or are you over it already? Sound off below by voting and letting your voice be heard.

It would be great to see the Harmons as ghosts in the house, along with all the other spirits. Hauting the house just as much as the others! And they could add some more past stories about the house, if the season2 is meant to be placed in the same house offcourse.
