I just had an internal debate about whether or not I should refer to Lance Reddick as The Wire’s Lance Reddick or Fringe’s Lance Reddick. As much as I love The Wire, it’s slowly becoming ancient, so Fringe it is. I’m sure he’s been elsewhere since, but I haven’t been keeping up.
Anyway, he’s about to pop up on FX in his most devilish role yet. Reddick is set to play “Voodoo Satan” on the show, meaning he’ll definitely have some screen time with Angela’s Bassett’s Marie Laveau. He’ll be there for a multi-episode arc, which I’m assuming is at least three, but possibly longer. There are six episodes left in this “Coven” season, which I have to say has proven to be infinitely better than “Asylum.” Why? It has witchcraft, voodoo and that’s pretty much it. Asylum had Nazis, aliens, zombies, serial killers AND demonic possession. Too many cooks.
The intro to American Horror Story: Coven shows a lot of witchy ceremonies with people dancing around in flowing robes and pointy mask-hats. A few literal demons even appear onscreen too. Usually, the intro reflects events that will eventually happen on the show, and maybe Reddick’s Satan will usher in this pagan era. Looking forward to seeing how he plays the role.
