This makes Chris Daughtry's memorable Fuel offer look like an invitation to join a barbershop quartet: Adam Lambert may be joining forces with Queen!  Ever since Adam performed with Queen on the American Idol finale, rumors have circualted that the iconic rock act had offerred him a spot in the band.  Rolling Stone used its Rock and Roll super powers to get to the bottom of things.

"...Roger Taylor and I are definitely hoping to have a meaningful conversation with him at some point. It’s not like we, as Queen, would rush into coalescing with another singer just like that. It isn’t that easy. But I’d certainly like to work with Adam. That is one amazing instrument he has there.” Queen guitarist Brian May told Rolling Stone.

Quick to avoid playing favorites, though, May got all diplomatic and wished well to Kris Allen.  "Both those boys are well worthy of big success, it’s pointless for someone like me to stand on the sidelines jeering. I’m confident Adam will make great use of this wonderful opportunity. I hope I’m there to see it."

May's words seem a little too well thought out, perhaps savoring the attention that the blockbuster finale has brought the aging iconic rock group.  Would bringing a young stud like Lambert, fresh from a 'talent competition' make sense for the seasoned rockers?  Another thing for Lambert to consider is whether or not his unique identity would be swallowed up by the Queen song library.  As the new singer of Queen, Lambert would be required to cover their catalogue of hits - the band has not produced much in the way of new material since the death of lead singer Freddie Mercury.

Adam should definitely NOT take this deal. He is the new generation. Queen would just be using him. They've had their day in the spotlight, now Adam needs to shine.

BOGUS! They should get George Michaels! They should have gotten George Michaels a long time ago.

He should do both. He could collaborate with Queen while working on his own solo album. Keeps his name in the news and lets him explore creatively. His voice is so versatile that he could do almost anything he wants. So lets do them all..

I couldn't agree more. I feel Lambert is a fresh new face and voice in music, but still ultra-capable of reigniting people's passion for Queen's music, along with his own album, which should do very well.

19-E has exercised their option with AI finalists, Adam Lambert has been signed up Sony-BMX the day after where Simon Cowell is the executive director.

In any case, it is out of the question that 19-E will release Adam to anyone. His contract has a minimum of 2 years. Having said that, Queen and 19-E can work out a deal where Adam can perform some songs or adhoc concert or as a guest singer.

    WOW!!!

I was just excited to see Queen come out. My hubby was cracking up because I was wiggling in my seat like a kid who forgot to go to the bathroom before dinner. I looooove Queen, and Lambert's (dare I say campy?) style of singing seems like it would go very well with the group. Although, I have to agree with QueenRocks and say that George Micheal would have been awesome too. But maybe with his string of bad publicity as of late he might not have been a good choice. But… now that I think about it… Freddie had his share of bad publicity too!

if he joins, I'm going to turn into a hater.

This got me so pissed off. Queen is over, Freddie Mercury died (called the god of rock, or something like that) and what's done is done. Having some random 27 year old replace him is kind of a disgrace. And it also kind of seems queen is using him to kind of get famous.

Sorry Queen, but it seems that when Freddie died, the band did as well.

Adam would give the world a fresh taste of some of the greatest music ever written if he joined Queen. He could also produce some of own originals with some of the greatest backing musicians in the world instead of sounding like just another tennage-wanabee band. It's all about great music isn't it?? Not ego's or idols!!
