American Idol's Alex Lambert Isn't Homeless

alex lambertTurns out American Idol's Alex Lambert isn't homeless, just horsing around. The former American idol contestant rose from obscurity momentarily when a tweet that claimed he was living behind buildings and sleeping on the street hit the news wire. Turns out he really did tweet that, but his representation is claiming it's not true.

Turns out Lambert's tweet was more about him expressing his devotion to his craft than a cry for help. "I have money! And soon I will have a place to stay! I just wanted to let yall know! I'm not some rich spoiled kid! That I've had to hustle and grind and I don't mind sleepin on the street as long as I get my chance! Because I will not take it for granted! I hope yall understand."

Regardless of his intent, the timing is extremely suspect. A few days before American Idol kicks off perhaps its most anticipated season in some time, a former contestant is making claims of homelessness? Sounds like a perfectly timed publicity attempt to me. Well, it worked - whether it will improve Alex Lambert's chances of becoming a superstar or not - considering he already tried that on American Idol's ninth season - remains to be seen.

Lambert has stated in his final tweet that he's finally giving up, after claiming his brothers were broke and sleeping on the floor. "I didn't mean to say broke ass brothers! I'm sorry Trenton Trevor and Spencer! I'm gonna stop tweeting now cuz I'm an idiot!"
