No one–including the producers and Adam–knew about Katy Perry's endorsement. So it wasn't the producers pimping Adam and it wasn't Adam pimping Adam. It was Katy pimping Adam. That shot was removed from the iTunes video of her performance, as well. Whether it was fair or not…this is show biz. You expect fair? Ultimately, I doubt that it had much effect. Anyone who would be influenced by Katy Perry was probably already voting for Adam. Seriously, do you see anyone in the audience thinking, "You know, I really liked Danny Gokey, but now that my woman Katy's come out for Adam, I guess I have to switch my vote"?

2. I like Kris, but he can't beat Adam. The only one who can beat Adam is Adam. If he brings his A Game, he wins. If he goes OTT, he looses.

I cant beleive you would seriously not vote for Adam because of something somebody did that he had not control over…. you havent event seen the finale and you have already made up your mind…thought it was a singing competition and you havent even seen the performance yet!!! Adam has actually been the underdog, we all know whoever the judges like early in the season means doomsday for them in the end. I guess you thought it was fair that his entire life has been splashed all over the media and all he did was audition for a singing competition… you think thats fair????? i knew he would be penalized for being just "too good" !!!!!!!!!!!

It's a shame you have made up your shallow mind about who you are voting for and you havent even see the finale, thought this was a singing contest!! I knew adam would loose becasue he would have to pay the price for just being well.. "too good" !!!!! He is the one that has been dragged under the bus- his personal thrown life out all over the place (which is nobodies business), and he has held his head high and gone forward. I ask you who is the underdog..please!!! I guess you havent noticed he is the most gracious, humble, polite one up there. He is the only one that thanks the band and praises the other idols!! They call him the camp counselor for a reason, he helps all them with there songs and arrangements and is always there for advice.Ythey have all been quoted saying he is the nicest guy you will ever meet and someone like you would punish him for things that are out of his control- sad!!!!!!!!!!!

Katy Perry was probably just playing to the "he looks so much like Elvis!" sentiments that so many people have expressed. Thus, the Elvis cape…IMO, Kris has talent and he will sell well if he is packaged and promoted correctly, but Adam has it all. The guy is unbelievable, skilled in every musical genre (yes, if he wanted to, he could even do country!) and he has so much stage presence, charisma, dancing ability, acting ability, yada, yada, yada. Puh-leeze vote him through to the finish! He has worked so hard for so many years. What a superstar-in-the-making!!!!!!!!!!!!

Katy Perry was probably just playing to the “he looks so much like Elvis!” sentiments that so many people have expressed. Thus, the Elvis cape…IMO, Kris has talent and he will sell well if he is packaged and promoted correctly, but Adam has it all. As far as the cape goes, I imagine Kris had a good laugh about it. Kris and Adam are great friends and I don't think he cares that Katy Perry showed her support for Adam. Much ado about nothing, IMO, and will not have any effect on the voting.

Nope. I just think Kris's approach relies solely on vocal talent, while Adam has vocal talent plus very polished theatrics – thus a noteworthy contrast. You fans are sooooo sensitive. ;)
