Ranking the Top 15 American Idol Contestants by Album Sales

We all know that many American Idol contestants go on to fame and fortune after their time on the show, but do we know the exact numbers?

That's the purpose of this post today which looks at the total album sales of all the American Idol winners over the years. The very top few will be obvious, but there are a few surprises along the way with 7th place, 6th place and 4th place contestants managing to sell a lot of copies despite not actually winning. And there are quite a few runners up as well, which proves that winning isn't everything.
