US vs. UK!
Yes, Tyra Banks is stoking the long dormant fires of the American Revolutionary War in the name of fashion, bringing together seven models from the US and seven models from the UK to see which country is fiercer.
Or something.
I definitely have mixed feelings about this reveal. What few international cycles of the show I've seen have been pretty good and I think the show could use the creative jolt that embracing the strengths of those editions could bring. The all-star season has been a bit of a disappointment and having such an unexpected "gimmick" to cycle 18 may also be just what the show needed to freshen things up. However, it's been a while since there was a cycle that I loved and I don't know if changing the nationalities of half the contestants is enough at this point in time.
While cycle 18 (which features new judge Kelly Cutrone) won't be premiering until some time next year, you can check out the all-star cycle, airing Wednesdays at 9:00 on The CW.

mixing the Uk and US is going to be a great idea, although i think the cultral difference will really show, just like in past cycles, because of the way we are brought up. so i do hope that they get a judge in from the Uk too as attitudes can be different. not sure how the American girls will take the UK ones. does this mean there will be have to be subtitles? i think they should do a mixed male and female cycle (unless they can not because of "make me a super model" ) or as Creole mentions an all male cycle. as well as mixing countries, giving the models more of a platform for the industry. perhaps they should do an all plus size cycle as Ashley suggested. love how plus size is for us 'normal' people.!! but still lots of options,
