America’s Next Top Model 19.10 Preview: Tyra and the Waterfall

top modelOn the last episode of America’s Next Top Model, the final six headed to Jamaica for the next part of the competition, culminating in a dance-off, a love triangle, and the elimination of Victoria. It was an episode that featured the return of potential power player Leila, something that threw Laura off her game and will play a key role in the rest of cycle 19. Mostly, it established that Jamaica will be a fruitful international destination for the show, able to provide some truly beautiful backdrops for photo shoots.

Next week on Top Model, the fierce five will be thrown head first into said backdrop, as the photo shoot takes place under a potentially dangerous waterfall. But there’s not much time for Laura, Kristin, Nastasia, Leila, and Kiara to be overly concerned about their safety, since Tyra will be the guest photographer for the shoot and they’ll need to put on a brave face in order to impress her. The girl that manages to get a first call-out next week will also have her photo blown up and put up in Tyra’s salon, a new mini-reward that Top Model hasn’t done before and one that should bring an extra sense of tension to set. With the competition tightening up with each passing week, having a judge on set and actively participating in the shoot might be enough to cause one of the models to finally crack.

America’s Next Top Model: College Edition airs Fridays at 8:00 on The CW. You can check out my recap of the most recent episode here, as well as the TVOvermind America’s Next Top Model discussion forum here.

Which of the remaining five do you think will brave the water and have their photo up in Tyra’s salon? Is Laura still the favorite to take home the title, or do you think that Nastasia or Leila will be able to catch up and overtake her? What type of photo shoots would you like to see for the rest of the cycle?
