America’s Next Top Model 19.06 Preview: Video Game Glam

top modelWith the elimination of Leila at the end of the last episode of America’s Next Top Model, the competition officially turned serious. Once a frontrunner with her unusual beauty and strong portfolio, Leila had an extremely poor week in every aspect and crashed out of the competition much earlier than anticipated. The new Top Model format might not be perfect, but her elimination served as a warning to the rest of the models. One poor week and you could be gone, no matter how much potential you show or how you’ve performed to that point.

Therefore, it’s not surprising that some of the models have become a little more tense. We’re well into the competition and one wrong move, particularly from a bottom feeder, might end their dream forever. The model most feeling the pressure, judging from the preview below, is Yvonne, who is coming off her best week on the show. Her comments might have been positive and encouraging, but the beauty queen was only called sixth, meaning that at her best she’s still a breath from being in the bottom two.

Cut to the photo shoot, a mix of live animals, Victorian fashion, and 19th century mechanics. After getting frustrated with her performance, Yvonne has a negative reaction, which sends Bryanboy into a tizzy. Cycle 19 has yet to have any major drama from the judge/contestant dynamic, minus Kelly dressing down Maria in the episode the latter quit the competition, so it should be interesting to see how the encounter comes off.

America’s Next Top Model: College Edition airs Fridays at 8:00 on The CW. You can check out my recap of the most recent episode here, as well as the TVOvermind America’s Next Top Model discussion forum here.

Will Yvonne’s “altercation” with Bryanboy cost her at panel? Which model do you think will produce the best photo this week? Who will win the video game challenge?
