FX has announced that Archer has been renewed for a fourth season of 13 episodes. In addition, the network has signed a production deal with Floyd County, the production company owned by the show’s executive producers Adam Reed and Matt Thompson. There’s still four episodes left in the current season, including tonight’s trip to West Virginia, before the finale arrives on March 22nd.
There’s no word about when to expect the new episodes, though the traditional start date for the ISIS gang tends to fall in mid-late January. The show aired a three episode mini-arc in September behind new episodes of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, which was said to be a part of season two.
Featuring the voices of H. Jon Benjamin, Aisha Tyler, Judy Greer, Jessica Walter, Chris Parnell, and Amber Nash, Archer follows a group of employees for the International Secret Intelligence Service (or ISIS) spy agency. It has earned nominations for a Primetime Emmy Award, a Critics Television Award, and several Annie Awards, while also bringing in critical acclaim for each season. Archer currently has a 75 on Metacritic for season three, to go along with a 78 and 88 for its first two seasons, respectively.
Archer airs tonight at 10:00 on FX, followed by a new episode of Unsupervised. You can check out a review of the book “How to Archer: The Ultimate Guide to Espionage and Style and Women and Also Cocktails Ever Written” here or pick it up through the likes of Barnes and Noble and Amazon.
