The Video Music Awards just added that much more star power, as E! Online is reporting that superstars Jay-Z and Kanye West will be performing at the ceremony on Sunday. However, no details have been released as to when the two will perform in the broadcast or what song they'll be performing.
After collaborating on a number of different occasions through the years, Jay and Kanye released Watch the Throne earlier this month to positive reviews and strong sales. It's currently at #1 on the Billboard 200 for a second week.
Digital Spy reported this week that the album will have two concurrent singles, as "N----- in Paris" will be released to urban radio on September 13th and "Why I Love You" will go to pop/top 40 on the same day, so there's a strong possibility of it being either of those. An outside shot would be "Otis", which the two shot a video for earlier this summer.
The 2011 Video Music Awards, set to be the third host-less ceremony in history and airing August 28th at 9:00, will feature performances by Lady Gaga, Adele, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, Young the Giant, and Pitbull, with tributes to Amy Winehouse and Britney Spears in the works. Immediately following the show will be a sneak peek at the pilot of I Just Want My Pants Back, a new half hour comedy set to air in January.
What did you think about Watch the Throne when you heard it? If you could pick any song from the album for J and Kanye to perform, what would it be? Does the inclusion of the duo increase your anticipation for the VMAs?

Do they show music videos anymore? If yes where?
