44th Annual NAACP Image Award Nominations Announced

steel magnolias naacpNominations for the 44th NAACP Image Awards have been announced and on the television side, ABC and Lifetime movie Steel Magnolias led the pack in total nominations for a network (20) and total nominations for an individual program (7), respectively. ABC garnered nominations for Modern FamilyHappy EndingsDesperate HousewivesGrey’s Anatomy, and Scandal from its primetime schedule, with additional nods going to Hallmark Hall of Fame movie Firelight, The View, One Life to Live, and General Hospital, while Steel Magnolias received six acting nominations to go along with a place in Outstanding Television Movie, Mini-Series or Dramatic Special.

Other shows that received multiple nominations include Glee, TremeSouthland, and True Blood, with the likes of Keke Palmer and Loretta Devine earning two and three individual nominations.

The 44th Annual NAACP Image Awards will air Friday, February 1st at 8:00 on NBC.
