Teen Choice Awards 2012 Nominees Announced

Teen Choice AwardsThe first wave of nominees for the 2012 Teen Choice Awards have been announced and leading the way on the TV side are two decidedly different shows. Tied with six nominations apiece are The Vampire Diaries and American Idol, with everything from Fringe to Gossip Girl picking up at least one nomination. Last year, The Vampire Diaries led all shows in number of wins, totaling five with victories for the show (Choice TV Show: Fantasy/Sci-Fi), Ian Somerhalder (Choice TV Actor: Fantasy/Sci-Fi), Nina Dobrev (Choice TV Actress: Fantasy/Sci-Fi), Kat Graham (Choice TV: Female Scene Stealer), and Michael Trevino (Choice TV: Male Scene Stealer).

Listed below are the first round of TV nominations. Before last year’s ceremony, another round was released three weeks following the first round and included categories like Choice Summer TV Show and Choice TV: Breakout Star.
