Bashee 1.04 "Half Dead is Better than All Dead" Preview Clips
Cinemax's Banshee is all new tonight, hot on the heels of a much anticipated renewal announcement earlier this week. Cinemax is really knocking it out of the park with their originals lineup as of late, with the quirky and thoroughly engrossing Banshee elevating their quickly evolving brand. If you're not watching, here's a few reasons to tune in: Amish mafia. Ex-Con takes on the identity of dead Sheriff. Tons of freaky sex. Yes, I said Amish mafia.
Tonight's episode "Half Dead is Better than All Dead" kicks off with one of the most insane chase sequences you will ever see anywhere. Check out the video up top for a tidbit. Lucas (Anthony Starr), having settled into his role as Sheriff of Banshee, is beginning to rebuild his criminal enterprise in his part time, attracting the interest of former partner Job (Hoon Lee) and new confidante Sugar (Frankie Faison), who tries to convince a reluctant Lucas to let him join the crew.
One thing I wasn't expecting to see this early on Banshee is Lucas taking down Proctor, none the less the Amish kingpin finds himself behind bars in tonight's episode, but that isn't so much the heart of the story as much as the lengths that Proctor (Played chillingly by Ulrich Thomseng) will go to in a bid to earn back his freedom.
Of course the highly complicated relationship between Carrie and Lucas is again center stage as Carrie finds herself as conflicted as ever as to how to deal with Lucas and his insistence at being a part of her life. Lucas pushes the envelope yet again, and his actions force Carrie down a path that could have consequences for them both.
Banshee currently airs on Cinemax, with new episodes airing Fridays at 10pm EST. Season Two will air in 2014, but there is plenty of Season One left to enjoy, Six more episodes after tonight's to be exact.
