Syfy seemed like it had something of a hit on its hands with Being Human, but it seems the show will be drawing to a close after its fourth season. Being Human has been officially canceled by the NBC-owned channel.
“Showrunner Anna Fricke and the talented producers, writers, cast and crew have done an amazing job bringing this show to life over the past four seasons and we sincerely thank them and the series’ production company Muse Entertainment for their hard work,” Syfy said in a statement announcing the cancellation. “They’ve saved the best for last with the final six episodes that revisit the story’s beginning, leading to a not-to-be-missed send-off for Aidan, Sally, Josh and Nora.”
It should be some small comfort that Being Human at least gets to end on its own terms, and not be subject to an abrupt axing as can happen with shows that aren’t performing. And any show that lasts four season in this day and age is nothing to sneeze at, and Being Human should be proud of what they’ve accomplished.
What original shows are left on Syfy? They actually have quite a stable between Helix, Haven , Bitten and Defiance, as well as Lost Girl and Continuum. None of them are Battlestar Galactica, but the channel is more than just Sharknado, that’s for sure.
