Hot on the heels of renewing reality competition series Face Off, Syfy has given a renewal to their much ballyhooed adaptation of Being Human, according to Deadline. The show is said to be one of "Syfy’s most successful winter scripted series launch in 6 years" and will likely bow its second season in January 2012. The UK edition of Being Human, which first debuted in early 2009, has been a monster success for BBC3, recently wrapping up its own third series and receiving a renewal the following day. The US edition of Being Human will air its first season finale on April 11th.
Being Human tells the story of a vampire and a werewolf who move into a new apartment and discover that it's haunted by the ghost of a previous tennant. While it sounds like the start of a bad joke ("so a werewolf, a vampire, and a ghost walk into a bar..."), the show explores aspects of what it means to be human, warts and all. It stars Sam Witwer, Meaghan Rath, Sam Huntington, and Mark Pellegrino.

I have really enjoyed this show after finding it. The evolution of these 3 characters as they work through living together and their afflictions is fascinating.
The ghost has been most annoying between whining over being dead and yapping when the live folk are having a conversation with someone who doesn't see her. Just finished watching Aidan lose that little boy and his 'maker' admit to having the human children killed to force Aidan into ending Bernie. They need to end Rebecca, too, as she is annoying, but then we never know where she is coming from.
So happy it will return for another season!!!
Mary are you serious? Rebecca is a great part of the cast!! Love her. Get a grip she's not going anywhere.

Rebecca isn't the ghost, Sally is. Rebecca is the red headed girl that Aiden turned into a vampire. I agree with Mary, she is an important part of the cast but she is annoying and she needed to die.
Aiden didn’t turn her bishop did duh pay attention people this is about as good as true blood but you have to read the books for true blood before watching it so see how different things are in the show then the books
well i guess this means ur happy Mary. lol Rebecca's gone. :[ although you are entitled to your opinion i think Rebecca made an interesting addition to the cast. she was very flip-floppy but wouldnt you be if you struggling with bloodthirst and holding onto whats left of your humanity? Cant believe Sally got her door and then lost it!! now THAT was wild. and Aiden getting staked!? that was off the charts! Cant wait to see what becomes of Josh and Nora's baby….now that she's been scratched, Season 2 should def take an interesting twist! CANT WAIT!!!!
I was very happy to see that sally missed her door…I love her she is a excellent part of the cast! i cant believe we have to wait this long for more episodes total bummer. they need to hurry up with this show and vampire diaries what am i going to do all summer
Try the new season of True Blood? Starts June 26th I believe. It's basically the same kinda thing except it is a bit more sex drenched than both of the shows you like so I don't know.
Also, if you haven't watched Supernatural, you should look into that series. It's pretty cool. Anyways, there are plenty of good shows to keep you occupied this summer, you just gotta find them!

Nora had a miscarriage. When she saw josh turn into his werewolf. But i love Josh <3 he is soo cute and funny and awkward whilst Aiden is super hot <3

is that from the uk season or are you assuming coz of the blood? because im pretty sure that was from the scratch on her arm. And a miss-carriage is where the feotus comes out dead? or actually just spontaneously falls out so to speak. and i think she would of been a little bit more upset.
I'm sorry, I just have to say, to the miscarriage comment- that's not a spoiler. It's obvious. When Josh turned, something happened to Nora's baby. That was way too much blood for just a scratch. And that's why Josh is comforting her the next day. He doesn't realize yet that he scratched her. He's comforting her because she had a miscarriage. And a miscarriage is not "where the baby comes out dead". A miscarriage can happen at any stage in the pregnancy, and basically means that something goes wrong and the baby dies, usually resulting in a large amount of blood. Of course, the fetus will be flushed out as well, though it is extremely small in early stages. In some very unfortunate situations, a miscarriage will happen very late in the pregnancy when the baby is close to full term and then yes- the baby must still be birthed, though is born dead.
why focus on who gets on your nerves the most? jeese. this is why they are called 'characters'. If the ghost is taken away, then whats the point in the beauty of 3 differents living together?

lol….I agree Sally is the real drama queen. She does not care if Aiden or Josh is sad, upset or whatever… All she talks about is Danny, Danny and Danny!!! She neither can physically help those guys nor can emotionally. She continues to remain a pain in their ass. However, Rebecca was sexy. She was the only attractive and powerful girl in the show. Sadly, she died.:((

Although I'd generally prefer the UK version, but I didn't like the cast much. I am much familiar with the cast of the US version i.e. Josh was Jimmy in "Superman Returns" and Aiden was Doomsday in "Smallville". Plus Werewolf looked very creepy in the UK while for the US werewolf, graphics were way better than its UK counterpart.
The Vampire in the UK version looks frail and poncy. Effeminate, if you will.

I've never seen the BBC version but have seen clips on Youtube… Sorry but I can barely understand them when they talk….can't imagine sitting thru an hour of that British accent (what'd they say? what'd they say?)

Despite being American myself, I too find the above comment about accents uncalled for. I recently moved to Dublin, and yes- the occasional taxi ride may pose a slight accent barrier, but 90% of the time I can understand what they are saying (the other 10% is more due to the fact that I am in the back of a taxi, while they are mumbling and facing the road). And all the time in shows, movies, etc. If you can't understand their British accent, you seriously have something wrong with your hearing. I love British shows.
I am American and can understand the people too. Maybe what she means is that she cannot connect with the people, the way she would if they were speaking without the accent. I have seen a few of the British episodes and would like to watch more, but I have to admit that the accent takes me out of reality for a bit, only because I am not used to hearing people around speak that way.

this tiz not good i hope with some luck they finish sooner. i love this show, tiz by far one of the top ones that i have seen. and the characters they have chosen i think are perfect. I did not start watching the series till the third episode (need to find the first two). I was pleasantly surprised by the writing and acting. It got my attention and I was soon looking forward to seeing what would happen next. Glad to hear that they renewed for a second season. Given the this season's finale it will be interesting to see how these characters develop and the addition of another werewolf (Nora)?

" The Gates" on abc and then they go and cancel it on me after i wasted like two months on it. so im glad to see Being Human is coming back for a second season. i havent seen the UK version and probably wont just so it wont ruin the future US episodes for me.

In season two, I would love to see Aiden and Sally fall in love….now that she can touch and feel things. If Nora moves into the house with Josh….won't the four of them (soon to be five) be one big happy family….kinda…sorta.

i think it will happen in season 3 it happens in the UK version (and things get crazy between Mitchell and Anne) and the season finally I think will end shockingly if you want to have an idea of what happens watch the UK version the US version fallows very closely to that series :)

first of all, i always love brit prodution, notwithstandig i`ve got to admit. i`ve watched the pilot of both to decide which one i should watch and i totally tend to american one version, i think that cast is so realistic and integrated to the scene, for example a vampire should show i don`t know darkness, i mean should `evil` and not silly as the actor of uk version, okay, i should extend it anymore, the only thing thats describe this show is AWESOME, and i really expect for second season….

ok i personally like the BBC3 version better but it has left me extremely sad and and angry with Aidan wanting to move on but i know that he has other shows and movies to act in and direct. i have also enjoyed this version there are some major differences in the characteristics of the vampires such as in this on they can see their reflection but in in the BBC3 dose not but i love them both. these episodes are somewhat predictable because it is the same story line so once this series ends the same as season 3 i will be sad (and i am not going to tell you what happens incase you want to watch the BBC one or haven’t seen it yet :)
I gotta wait till 2012 for season 2?! My BF got me into this show and we love it! Love the actors love the show. I can't wait to see what happens in season 2 and if the baby will be a boy or girl. Wonder if she'll have a litter of pups! LOL
I missed 'Angel' so much when it ended (on a foul note in the wrong persons hands). Now that I found 'Being Human', it really makes up for it. Not that they have too much in common, just excellent writers. And my husband, not thinking any show could hold a candle to 'Angel', has grown to love 'Being Human'. I say Kudos to the writers and keep up the great work!
I am so glad that the show is being renewed for its second season. It was a lot of fun to watch, and my husband and I looked forward to seeing it every week. We did not miss an episode. There is way to much reality tv on right now, and so it is nice to have something else to watch that is much more enjoyable.

They are distinguishly very different characters.. Josh is funny as hell… omg I laughed so hard the fisrt time they meet Sally… It's actually the kind of guy i'd love to meet and hang out with, and DATE :) Aiden is quite charming as well… I love Sally.. The show is very interesting because first, there's not much sex but you still have the thrilling interest for what's happening (major point!!) and second, it really is about developping a life trying to be as much human as possible. This show is great and I really do hope that there's gonna be a lot of follow ups! THANK YOU for creating such an entertainment!

The UK version is WAY better but I have enjoyed the US version and can't wait until season 2. The UK and US versions are very different so watching the UK version won't ruin the US version for you (storyline wise). The ghost is not annoying in the UK version. The werewolf does not have a sister in the UK version (I don't recall them ever really mentioning his family). I also find the relationship between the werewolf and vampire MUCH more believable in the UK version. I don't sense the chemistry in the US version — it almost feels like they just tolerate each other. But it is funny how the US ghost and the UK ghost have almost the same wardrobe.
The UK version is really good but personally i think that the US one is better becuase of the graphics and characters.

I am so hooked on this show, it is like a drug to me, I guess. I did however miss or forgot if I seen the last episode, I think we had a storm that nigh and my DVR did not record. I hope they play a few before the new series starts so i can remember or not if I had seen it. I do love all the charectors, they all mesh well together
I'm with you Joann – totally hooked. Love the characters. They have such great chemistry. Stories are great, too. Jan 2012 is such a long way off, but the upside is – YES, there is a season 2 in US. To get me thru this hellishly long wait, I'll just think about how nice it will be to be indoors warm and cozy and watching Being Human while the freaking cold wind, snow, sleet or freezing rain coat the sidewalks. It'll help get me thru winter.
hello all. IM IN lOVE!!!!! ive been into this kinda stuff a shows and the world of the umknow for as long as i can remember. When i was younger so many thought i was out of it.. i guess u could say… well over 20 years later (now being 28) im still in to these style of show and movies. if dont the right way. im not into crazy gore or anything. Im a pretty happy girl now considering there coming out with more and more and well now one looks at me like im a loony toon anymore. so that is an added bonus.. so just wanted to say im VERY excited to see/hear the show will be back . but wish it wasent so far away.

although i dont like that there is only 1 season per yea and alot of people commented on it, you have to give them a chance to make the script, the storyline, film it, then edit it, which all takes alot of time, although alot of shows tend to do record 2 or more season in the 1 year anyway.

I love being human on syfy i hope the writers don't do what the uk did. I fell in love with Mitchell and they killed him off. I do love Adian. I think he very talented and sexy and i can't get enough of this group. So writers don't kill the sexiest man alive ok undead i do love him and this show

I watched the us version first as i didn't know there was a British version.Well,i was hooked needless to say and couldn't wait til 2012 so i got the uk version.At first i didn't really car for the ghost on the uk version but loved the vampire and werewolf.Alas,the vampire that i liked on the uk version was only on the pilot episode and then he left for other ventures as he wasn't sure if the pilot was going to be picked up.Still they are both outstanding in their own rights so i'll keep watching both.
i don’t understand, why Season 1 & 2/3 is different actor? Have UK and US version? Why can’t just try to use back season 1 actor? I am not use to watch the show with different actor between 1 & 2.

i like the US version better than UK. first the characters in UK are not too much of a bad ass especially the vampz. second is lame color TV setting of the UK, and the accent was almost too fast to understand for any asians. third josh is fun to watch. josh UK version is silly almost over-acting, and vampz and werewolf in the UK version seems unrealistic because they have same type of skin. the vamps should be more albino looking. ive never seen a vampire that had a beard (haha). and 4th UK version doesnt have much acting or not too much fight scenes. im sorry but the US version really has an edge than the UK.

YOU GUYS ARE NUTS!!! SERIOUSLY, YOU THINK THE U.S. VERSION IS BETTER. NOT AT ALL. THE STORY IS DILUTED BECAUSE THEY ARE TRYING TO STRETCH OUT A 6 EPISODE SHOW OVER 20 AMERICAN SHOWS. NOT TO MENTION THE PRODUCTION QUALITY IS HIGHER AS WELL AS THE ENTIRE FEEL OF THE SHOW. THE UK VERSION SPEAKS TO THE FACT THAT THEY ARE LIVING ON THE FRINGE. THE US VERSION IS LIKE FRIENDS MEETS THE SYFY CHANNEL.
