Bryan Cranston Pays Surprise Visit to Better Call Saul Panel on Sunday

Better Call Saul fans are completely jacked up about tomorrow and rightfully so.  Season 3 is promising to be an incredible.   Not only did we find out that Gus Fring is making his first appearance but we’re also going to see Jimmy transition to “Saul.”   The theme in season 3?  Darker.  That’s all everyone’s been talking about.  That and “Breaking Bad.”  It’s been two seasons so far and Better Call Saul has been excellent, but we all know this show is coming full circle this season a la the Breaking Bad front.

After all, while this show is a spinoff to Breaking Bad, it’s really a prequel.  To make Breaking Bad speculation even hotter, guess who stopped by Deadline’s The Contenders Emmys on Sunday?  None other than Walter White himself, Bryan Cranston.   “I just couldn’t help myself,” he said. “Know where your wallet is right now,” quipped cast member Jonathan Banks as Cranston greeted his old crew on the eve of Saul‘s Season 3 premiere. Also on the panel were Saul co-creator and EP Peter Gould, along with cast members Giancarlo Esposito and Rhea Seehorn.

The upcoming season on AMC sees Esposito’s return as Breaking Bad‘s Gustavo Fring, the disquieting fast-food entrepreneur and meth dealer. “I’m back in a new way,” said Esposito. “It’s a Gus you’ve never seen before. The subtle difference is I want to be the Gus that’s younger, vulnerable” and “finding the way to being the kingpin that you meet in Breaking Bad.”

I cannot wait until tomorrow.
