The Big Bang Theory Might Surpass Friends in Ratings
We all know that CBS's Big Bang Theory is quite popular, but perhaps we don't know the full extent. It's long been said that the era of the sitcom is over, but a few select shows are desperate to prove that statement false.
And it's hard to argue that's the case when shows like The Big Bang Theory put up such massive ratings across the board. Currently, the show averages 20.3 million viewers for new episodes, 19.05 million for reruns. For comparison, Friends averages 20.8 million in its final season, while the biggest show since Friends wrapped has been Everybody Loves Raymond with 17.4 million.
What does this mean? Well, if current trends hold, The Big Bang Theory might actually surpass Friends, which would be one hell of an accomplishment. The second half of the season however might be a bit tougher, as numbers usually go down, but the show is coming back, so there's always next year.
Do you think that Big Bang Theory is actually a better show than Friends, or are more people simply watching TV now?

Yes, The Big Bang Theory is a lot better than friends IMO.
Well, they are shows of their times, Friends was kind of pioneer in the 20s something shows and a Ninety’s thing; Meanwhile TBBT is not the first show about geek/nerdish things but Its the first one that make it a central point and that it totally works.
