Wow, talk about a bag full of crazy being unleashed in the Big Brother house tonight... Or should we call it an 'ego overdose?'
Tonight's Big Brother displayed just how scared the last remaining Vets (sans Daniele) are after Brendon left the house last Thursday, which means they will turn to the only tool they have left for their survival: intimidation! With that said, at least the Vets are paying close attention to the new twist in the game involving this week's evicted houseguest getting a second chance to come back into the house, because that is really crucial to everyone's game play this week.
While Kalia and Daniele celebrated Kalia's HOH win, the house was kind of falling apart all around them. Porsche was given the evil eye by Jeff, because she paired Shelly and Jeff up against each other during the competition, which set off the Vet's paranoid meter on whether they should trust Porsche or not. Rachel, on the other hand, cried nonstop for the first 15 minutes of the episode, which I think beat Big Brother 8's April's record for that entire season. Jeff and Jordan cheered their teammate up by reminding her that in the event of her being evicted, she at least has a chance to come back into the house.
After Kalia's HOH room reveal, she asked Daniele for advice on handling the inevitable parade of House Guests that will come up and sell themselves in order to avoid nomination. On time, Rachel appeared and asked Daniele to leave so she could talk to Kalia alone. The convo was the usual "if you don't put me up for eviction, I won't come after you next week" fare, but Kalia toyed with the idea of straddling the fence by working with Rachel. Yeah, right.
Next up was a scene with Shelly and Kalia as they discussed Kalia's upbringing and how people were shocked at how well-spoken she was and that she wasn't some ghetto diva. Was I the only person waiting for a "Race Relations by Big Brother" message to come across the screen as this discussion played out?
Later, Kalia discussed her nominations with Daniele, which involved putting up Rachel and Jeff with the latter nominee being basically a pawn. Kalia didn't want Jeff to be the target and only chose him due to him being the only person who could win the POV. Um... has she not kept up with Jeff's POV wins for the summer which total zero? I'm totally calling B.S. on this one, because that's not a good stress reliever to win Jeff over.
Next up was the Have/Have Not competition, which had the House Guests spilt up into two teams: Red
(Daniele, Lawon, Adam, and Porsche) vs Blue (Jeff, Jordan, Rachel, and Shelly). It was a tasting competition where the House Guests had to mix various different foods and have a person from the other team try to guess what the ingredients were in the mixture. In short, it was gross as always. During the competition, Jordan became fed up a little after Shelly ignored taking Jeff's advice about one cocktail, making the paranoia alarm go off in Jordan's head that Shelly didn't want to win. In the end, the Blue Team lost the competition and was subject to catfish and coconuts for the week. Not bad at all if you ask me (God, I love catfish), but hopefully someone from production will skin and clean the fish before they have to eat it. If not, then that's just cruel torture.
After the food competition, Jordan breaks down because she hates how they are the target all the time when people like Porsche and Lawon are doing nothing in the game and shouldn't be there. Um, Jordan, that's called being smart and being a target tends to come from making big waves, enemies, and trying to dominate the house. You guys (well namely Jeff, Rachel, and Brendon) overplayed your hand with your egos, which are now bruised to the point that not even a supply of hyrdocodones could cure.
Just when you think the Vets' egos couldn't get even more blown out of proportion, Jeff and Jordan came to Kalia to talk game, which is where Kalia decided to drop the nominations on Jeff and Jordan a bit early, sending both players off the deep end. Kalia tried to explain to them (unsuccessfully) how Jeff wasn't the target and that she will only nominate him to ensure his participation in the Veto competition. If I was in Jeff's shoes, I wouldn't buy that excuse either, but what did he expect? That he would get off scot-free for his past transgressions? Jordan, disgusted and fed up, left the HOH room, shouting at Kalia that if Jeff goes up then the will have made two more enemies inside the house.
Jeff, on the other hand, took the 'Kalia is Daniele's puppet' route, telling Kalia that he was focused on taking out floaters, but now has Kalia as his number one target, which is complete and utter "bull." Jeff has said numerous times on the show and during live feeds how much he wanted to take out Kalia and Daniele, which Kalia actually brought up as a defense. Jeff countered that Kalia listens to too many people in the house and not to herself. Then to drive his point home, Jeff pointed to Kalia's family pictures and said that none of them has Daniele in them and that she has to think for herself. Wait, why bring her family photos into this argument? Low blow much?
As a parting shot, Jeff made sure to let Kalia know that no matter the outcome, she will be a target of next week. Unfortunately, this led to crying in the Diary Room. Suck it up and move on...
During the nomination ceremony, things got even more ridiculous when the group was called into the house to participate in the key pulling. Rachel sat right up under Daniele, invading the girl's private space and grinning while asking, "How are you doing, Daniele?" Really?!
Then as Jordan received her key, instead of saying the usual 'thank you,' she felt that she had to let Kalia (and everyone else) know how she was going to end up as a replacement nominee anyway and her getting a key was a sham. Don't shoot yourself in the foot, Jordan. Finally, the nominations stood at Jeff and Rachel as Kalia promised, but instead of giving the usual "it's just game" speech, Kalia got a little personal in her reasons for nominating the two after Jeff's rant in the HOH room, which Rachel and Jeff snickered at. Classy!
But it didn't end there, folks, because Rachel kept being a brat towards Daniele, following her into the next room on Daniele's heels and nagging in her ear. It took Shelly to pull Rachel off before things got even uglier. Crazy.
So who do you think will win the POV? I know a lot of you already know the answer to that, as do I, but what did you think about tonight's episode of Big Brother? Have the Vets egos been bruised or are they being unfairly treated?
As long as Jeff gets evicted, I could care less who wins POV. I still love Rachel and hopes she stays in the game. Her fake crying is quite annoying however. She never was like this last season, and I know she's playing up the "woe is me" to gain support from American viewers. I was impressed with Kalia; she stood her ground, but should have been more direct with Jeff.
