Tonight's Big Brother picked right were the endurance competition left off this past Thursday. Like the last endurance challenge, it was a quick, clocking in at under two hours. The conditions got worse and a lot of people fell on their asses pretty hard (Adam, Rachel, and Jordan comes to mind), but there was a clear victor in the end and it was none other than "Big Jeff."
Now don't let the title of this review/discussion fool you. I'm still not a fan of Jeff and knew that the Vets would dominate this week if he won the HOH. With that said, at least this week will be interesting and we finally got a male to win HOH this season, so you can't ignore those two pluses no matter how tainted they are.
After Jeff sealed the deal with his HOH, Daniele congratulated him on his win, but secretly Jeff doesn't want Dani to get too comfortable with their "deal" they made the previous week. He promised in the Diary Room to backdoor Daniele if the opportunity presented itself. Yikes! Elsewhere, Shelly repeated her disgust over Rachel to Dani and Kalia before going to the bathroom area to kiss Jeff's ass to the point that it would annoy Rachel into saying something. The funny thing about this was how Shelly said Rachel was trying to get her claws into Jeff after he won HOH. You would have thought Shelly was ready to snatch Rachel's eyes out over her husband by the way she said it. Wonder what Jordan would say if she had of heard it...
In another room, Kalia and Daniele talked about Jeff winning HOH, which has Kalia sitting on pins and needles after what happened during her HOH week. Thinking that whatever scenario she came up with was not in her favor, Kalia finally felt that if it came down to Porsche and herself being nominated, at least Daniele could win POV and take Kalia off. Daniele mentioned how no matter what, Jeff has the votes for things to go his way. Kalia then asked Daniele if she was upset about the situation as well, which Daniele clumsily answered, "Well, I mean, I'm not stoked." After hearing that, I would have started worrying my ass off if I was Kalia, because Daniele was seriously sitting pretty (figuratively and literally) as she relayed her response to Kalia.
Jeff showed everyone his HOH room and once everyone left, there was only one person still sitting in his presence. Rachel. The rest of the house notices this from downstairs and immediately went in on how Rachel is always the first person in the HOH room after someone wins it. After Jordan went up to the HOH room, Shelly made her way up there as well after telling everyone that she's tired of Rachel's stares of death being thrown her way. So after Shelly made it to the HOH room, a few minutes passed (maybe more due to editing) before Shelly decided to call Rachel out on her catty behavior and how it better stop if the two of them want to move forward. Rachel, surprisingly, didn't attack back and only agreed to start things off on a clean slate with Shelly. I give that truce a week to last and then it will be back on like Donkey Kong 2.
Next the House Guests discover what America chose for the Have Nots to feast on for the week and the
selection was jalapeños and hard-boiled eggs. Since there wasn't a Luxury Competition as of yet, Jeff had to decide who to put on the Have Nots diet. So of course he chose Kalia, Porsche, and Daniele. Hearing her fate, Daniele complained to Porsche on how horrible she does in competitions when she's on slop, plus the fact that her birthday is coming up and she won't get to eat food then, either.
Later in the backyard, Kalia decided to sit and have a conversation with Jeff over what his plans were for nominations and he didn't hold back in telling her that she's a potential candidate, citing her decision to nominate him when he told her not to. Kalia mentioned how Rachel threw Jeff under the bus and how he should take that into consideration. In the Diary Room, Jeff responded to that by saying people need to stop throwing folks under the bus and to take responsibility for their actions. Really, Jeff? Really? Anyway... Jeff pretty much told Kalia that she might need to start working on a game plan, because he didn't forget his nomination and she shouldn't forget it either.
Since there are less House Guests in the Big Brother house, that means we will be subjected to more random moments that have happened in the house. First up was Shelly's weird eating habits and the second thing was the shrinking of the Big Brother kitchen table, which has become a milestone marker in the game. Now with those side issues out the way, we return to the regularly scheduled programming.
Jeff apologized to Daniele for putting her on slop for the week and assured her that she was safe for the week. Then he asked about what did she plan on doing if she won the Veto. After finding out that Jeff wanted the nominations to stay the same, Daniele told him she would throw the Veto, because if she did win it Kalia would expect Daniele to remove her from the block. He did make sure to ask Daniele to keep things between them.
Afterwards, Porsche approached Jeff to talk game, which Jeff found "hilarious" because 1) Porsche has never talked game before and 2) she's horrible at it. So Jeff pretty much patted her on the head and sent her on her way. It didn't literally happen like that, but hell it might as well had.
Finally, Jeff relayed his and Daniele's conversation with Jordan, who balked at the notion of Daniele throwing the Veto competition, which she thinks would be stupid on Daniele's part. Jordan then surmised the thought of back-dooring Daniele, but Jeff claimed how he didn't want to piss Daniele off in case she survived the week and came for him the next in retaliation. So who did Jeff end up nominating? Duh! Porsche and Kalia.
So who do you think will win the Veto? I already know, but don't want to throw spoilers your way. How did you feel about the power shift in tonight's Big Brother?
