Well, my patience with Big Brother is growing thinner and thinner with each episode, live feed updates, and every growing minute as the Gruesome Foursome (Rachel, Brendon, Jeff, and Jordan) dominate the game with no signs of a break in their power streak. Seriously at this point in time it wouldn't be too much to envision them as this year's Final Four, because they have the household gripped in a state of fear beyond even the realm of a Michael Crichton novel. It's that damn serious.
There is, however, one player who I am rooting for tooth and nail, someone I had no clue I would actually form a liking to this time around. That person is Daniele Donato and her game was the best damn thing Big Brother 13 could offer to us this season. That is until tonight.
The majority of the episode was all about Daniele making an effort to make sure Dominic stayed in the house this week by any means necessary. Her main obstacle to achieve this goal was to pit the duo of Jeff and Jordan, who want Dominic gone from the game, against Rachel and Brendon. While Daniele really didn't have to do too much to get the two power couples to work each other's nerves, she did have to make sure who to trust with her information and who not to trust. In attempting to have that endeavor on lock, Danielle, unfortunately, came up hella short.
Daniele's first problem, in my opinion, comes from the person she's actually trying to save. Dominic, understandably fearing for his life inside the Big Brother house at this particular moment, campaigned probably a bit too much for his own doing. Going to Rachel for a reprieve from eviction made sense in some aspects, but I would have just let Daniele do her thing while still trying my damnedest to win the POV in case plans fell through. I admire Dom's tenacity, but there are times when I seriously want the guy to lay low.
Second issue is Shelly. This woman cannot be trusted at all, unless you are Jordan and Jeff. Her attraction to these two is uncanny. She's subscribing to J&J's cult while the two love birds don't even know it's a cult. I mean why on earth would you have a lengthy conversation with Dom and then run and tell every once of information the guy had to Jordan and Rachel? It's unreal and it's not "cute" in the least. Think about it. Shelly's tattle-telling didn't and will not help her down the line with these people, because everyone knows where her allegiance stands and will know not to trust her. Especially Brendon and Rachel, who will probably have to get rid of her once it becomes time to take out Jeff and Jordan and will probably consider Shelly the gatekeeper in that achievement. Plus, didn't Jordan put Shelly on the block the week before without really telling her beforehand? Just saying...
Dani's final problem is Jeff, who was the one who cracked Daniele and Dom's code and went ballistic behind
it. While tonight's episode showed Jeff and the others playing dumb to not let Daniele know they have caught on to her, there seems to have been a fight of sorts in the house tonight that might air tomorrow. I have no clue what it was about, but I do know Daniele and Jeff were in the middle of it. However, I'm jumping ahead of myself. The bottom line is that Jeff gets seriously competitive when someone tries to make a power play behind his back and doesn't know when to let up. This could be a good thing in some respects, because Jeff's anger could get him to make a mistake or five in his quest for payback for being wronged. Hopefully this will happen during this week's HOH competition, where I hope Daniele or Kalia takes the crown.
Bottom line? I'm praying for the twist that will be revealed tomorrow night to really shake up the damn game to the point that the Vets are left vulnerable as hell. The game is getting boring with them constantly dominating everything in the house, competition wise and in general. What was a pretty interesting twist to the Big Brother game at the beginning of the season has turned into a drastically stale and tragically monotonous experience so far. It might be fun for the Vets and their lackeys, but for viewers at home, it's like open brain surgery without an anesthetic.
So a quick recap of things that happened during and after tonight's Big Brother POV competition:
- The POV players were Jeff and Jordan (again), Dom and Adam (again), and Rachel and Brendon (of course... and again). The competition dealt with removing life-sized hair follicles off the legs of a huge game bored in the shape of a female in a tub. Personally, I thought Big Brother was trying to say something to Rachel about her hygiene, but I could be wrong.
- The hair follicles had letters at the bottom of them, which meant it was another spelling competition. Despite claiming he would throw the competition, Dominic played well, as did Adam, to Brendon's dismay. It didn't matter though, because Brendon ended up winning the competition by spelling the 13-letter word "understanding."
- After they figured out Daniele's plan, Brenchal played along with Daniele's suggestions of backdooring Jeff and Jordan, but it was all to no avail. Brendon kept the nominations the same, reminding the house of his alliance with Rachel and that what she wants stays. Excuse me while I go vomit everything I've eaten for the past five years.
So that was tonight's Big Brother, folks. Knowing my luck with the show so far, I might be a minority in my rantings and that's cool. I just want the game to pick up or shut up at this point.
What are your thoughts on tonight's Big Brother? Who will go home? Dominic or Adam?
