Big Love Spoilers - What To Expect in Season 4

Season 4 of Big Love will be premiering on Sunday, January 10th (see photos and a promo I just posted).  Creator Will Scheffer spoke with Elle magazine and revealed some information about what we should expect to see in season 4.

The wives will no longer be happy being subservient:

The wives are finally beginning to question their subjugation to a man, to a religion, to a family. They’re really being challenged by patriarchal values.

The secret life of Bill's family will be more exposed and he will be taking on a new job:

And this season, Bill’s making a choice to bring the family more into the public spotlight by…I don’t think this is going to be a secret, but Bill is considering running for public office this year.

A new cast member will be joining the show in season 4: Sissy Spacek.

She’s playing a Washington lobbyist. She’s coming into the life of the family as a self-realized woman without a husband and with a very powerful career. She’s someone that I think Barb, especially, is looking at and seeing her own choices reflected in the choices of this woman.

Prophet Roman Grant died at the end of last season and Scheffer says that he is most definitely dead.  However, his influence will extend from beyond the grave.

The Washington Post also reveals that Alby will be involved in a gay relationship with another man:

The first episode of the new season involves Alby, a son of the leader of a fictional polygamist group, in a "close encounter" with a male trustee. Both have been struggling with their sexuality.

E!Online also reports that Amanda Seyfriend (who plays Bill's daughter) will be leaving the show at the end of season 4 to focus on her film career.  If I remember correctly, her character is nearing the end of high school, so they'll probably send her off to college and leave open the possibility of some return guest spots (but that's merely speculation).
