For those of you wanting more seasons of Bravo's powerful franchise now that the D.C. has been canceled and the Miami is in limbo, I'm sorry to report that Bravo's Andy Cohen is sticking to his word that there will be no new cities added to the Real Housewives stable. Rumors have been swirling that projects currently filming in Las Vegas and Phoenix were new Real Housewives incarnations, but Cohen has denied that the projects are for Bravo, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
It's been a mixed bag for the Real Housewives lately. While Atlanta gave the network its highest ratings ever and flagship O.C. continues marching on, D.C. became the first incarnation of the show to get the ax and Miami tried a live reunion in order to drum up buzz to carry it to season two. The format of the show, however, has been very influential in reality television, as VH1 (Mob Wives, Basketball Wives, Football Wives, Wrestling Wives, Love & Hip Hop) and E! (Married to Rock) have found success in highlighting the bonds (and brawls) of a closely linked group of women with unusual lifestyles. Bravo still continues to do extremely well despite the setbacks with the two Housewives seasons, so in a weird way, they don't even need more "cycles", at least from a business standpoint. If they do go back to the well once their current blockbusters start wilting a little, I think Vegas would be an ideal location, but places like New Orleans and overseas cities like Ibiza and Paris would make for great television. And apparently the Real Housewives of Athens sounds like it'd be right at home, so international locations may add the spice that the franchise needs.
Do you think they should add another city to the Real Housewives franchise, especially if Miami joins D.C. as one season wonders? If so, what city would you pick? If not, why not?
I like the Real housewives series, but I think it would be more interesting if they filmed regular families. Why? Because these rich ladies spend a lot of there time shopping, going out for lunch, getting spa treatments, and talking about what kind of jewelry there husbands bought them for being good!
rinse and repeat
"Blockbusters?" Really? I thought the ratings weren't anything that special, but the shows are so cheap to produce that they stay on anyway.
nashville, tn would be a good one since home of the music entertainment and were i was born and rise with a southern charm spirit and texas go big or go home or chicago the world of business opportunties l would have to say nashville tn replace D.C with a another southern hospitality atlanta vs nashville who bring the the most drama
