Breaking Bad Trailer – Tick, Ticking Away

Nineteen days until the best Drama show on Television returns. That would be Breaking Bad, in case you needed a reminder. The first half of the final season airs Sunday, July 15th on AMC (But not Dish network, if you haven’t heard) and AMC is picking up the pace when it comes to teasing the return of Breaking Bad. Like most of the promos, this one features mostly footage from previous seasons with a few smatterings of new footage inserted to make you say ‘whoa!’. Here we get some dialogue from Mike, who will be returning to the series as a regular to help ride things out.

The one thing I want to know is: who is this season’s big bad? There is every reason to believe that Walter himself will be the big bad of Breaking Bad‘s final season. It makes perfect sense considering the trajectory of his character; but if that is the case, who is the protagonist? Jesse? Or maybe, just maybe, everything progresses into such a moral grey that we can’t even tell the good from the bad anymore.

Or, how about this possibility: Gus Fring is gone, but he lest a mysterious back story behind that could contain loyalists. Could it be that Fring’s criminal empire pales in comparison to the organization he was involved in before ‘Gus Fring’ even came into existence? If so, killing off Fring may yet prove to be Walter’s biggest mistake.
