Alright, I am sort of beside myself with this news. Bryan Cranston is writing Walter White’s memoir. Well, kind of. Seems the beloved actor is writing a book for Simon and Schuster about his alter ego and his time at Breaking Bad. I cannot help but feel like this is a gift from the very heavens themselves. For those of us obsessed with this show, it gives us one final chance to get to spend some time with the polarizing meth lord and figure out how his brain works. It will be like an amazing directors cut, inside the brain of Heisenberg himself. Now you can see why I am beside myself.
Just take a moment to think about how incredible Bryan Cranston writing Walter White’s memoir is. This is like some dream fan fiction, written from the man himself. Just what kinds of insight will this book offer us? Well, we have a quote from Vulture: “[I'll] tell the stories of my life and reveal the secrets and lies that I lived with for six years shootingBreaking Bad.” That is directly from the mouth of Bryan Cranston himself. Again, I cannot put into words just how jubilant this makes me. This is like a sixth season, peering directly into Walter White’s mind.
I’m sorry if I sound like a foaming fan boy right now, but you need to realize. I AM a foaming fan boy. I write for a TV site, so obviously I have some real appreciation for this stuff. But anyone who thinks Breaking Bad was not one of the best shows of all time can just keep on walking. They don’t even deserve to say his name. We call those people Hanks.
