Just moments after we posted the news that Human Target had been canceled by Fox, we caught win from Deadline that the new freshman comedy series Breaking In was also canceled by the network.
Poor Christian Slater. The guy just can't catch a break.
Breaking In premiered to solid ratings for Fox. The series, which focuses on a group of thieves who work at a security agency, had nearly 10 million viewers for its premiere episode, and had American Idol as a lead-in. The ratings for Breaking In did drop-off after the premiere, and started averaging between 7 and 8 million viewers each week.
According to Deadline, the cancellation of Breaking In is a strange move, because the show actually performs better than other Fox comedies such as Traffic Light (and the already-canceled Running Wilde). Fox's Upfront presentation isn't until early next week, but it looks like the network is already putting its schedule out there. We might get a full picture of their Fall schedule before the end of this week. Read more about their new pilot pick-ups here.
I'm not yet sure how many un-aired episodes of Breaking In exist and whether they will air or be pulled from the schedule.

To be honest I am totally gutted, this show was absolutely brilliant. Both my husband and I have been avid watchers and its extremely rare we can find a show we both love. The cast were brilliant, the characterization and plots great, and Slater was absolutely wonderful in every respect. I sincerely hope Fox wake up and realise they have made a mistake in cancelling this show!

I can't believe they cancelled this show! I just found out it had premiered weeks ago and immediately watched all the episodes on Hulu. They should have advertised this show a whole lot more because it is BRILLIANT! I instantly feel in love with each character within the first 10 minutes and the cast was perfect. I seriously hope Fox reconsiders cancelling this show :(

breaking in is one of those shows where you have to tune in each week. Each character compliments each other. Plus it's kind of like the office…..heck with pranks characters you hate to love and jokes i was glued to the tv….I hope another network tries to get this show…if thats possible……oz would let it happen :)

this show was the only show i made a point to catch.maybe if the powers that be could understand the people watch these shows online also.have netflix hulu etc send weekly reports on how many people veiw what show.network tv sucks.its not just fox they all suck.maybe they can have another show about grease stains from jersey.

I personally thought this was a pretty good show. Compared to shows already cancelled this season Breaking In was way ahead of the curve in terms of viewers.
It certainly deserved more than the 7 episodes it got.
Of course this show is cancelled, I predicted it would be very short lived after the pilot episode. Christian Slater should just hang up his hat and retire, get away from Hollywood. He`s done.
This is just like Drive all over again , the show has good standing just maybe needs to try a different timeslot . I remember when they dropped Drive , it was kinda they samething . I'm sorry but this is getting ridiculous. Why cancel a good show? Everytime it comes on TV, I can't catch it due to work and school and these guys have to realize that many people can't catch it like myself. So I gotta stream the episodes and watch it. I wanted to know if Cam and Mel would have any progression with their awkward relation. Yet again, I hate FOX and I hope this show gets picked up by a new station. Fox = Poor decision making and loves reality shows like American Idol.. Seriously guys? We need something to laugh at… If FOX was a show, I'd cancel them.

So, wikipedia lists the season finale of Breaking In at only 3.8m as opposed to the 6.5m+ for the rest of the short-lived season. Now I'm waiting for them to state that it's gonna remain canceled due to this. I seriously think the day change for the finale was their way of justifying the cancellation, which is a load of bull hockey. (Let's do the math… show is doing great, then half way through the premier season, you announce it's gonna be canceled… That deters many people from watching it. Then, change the time slot to a different day, that also tends to deter some from watching anymore)
I still have my hope for Breaking In to come back. It's the ONLY premier season show that I managed to get into this year and absolutely loved it.
I'm gonna boycott FOX & ABC. They cancel some of the best shows out there! I love Breaking In, the show's hilarious!! As a huge Smallville fan, I've thoroughly enjoyed Michael Rosenbaum's character. I just don't get why they'd cancel it????? THIS SUCKS!!!!
This SUCKS, TV used to be so much better when good shows were on air because they were actually clever. Now its all about ratings and what money they can bring in, and so were are stuck with repetitive reality TV.

You should have all figure this out by now. Wether shows stay on or not is 100% politics. Networks don't even pay attention to ratings anymore. Mostly because the ratings system is antiquated and in dire need of a complete overhaul. Once they figure out how to properly do product placement without affecting the story and lose the old 30 second commercial format then they can move on to a new 30/60 minute format. However they will continue to make decisions based on politics. Stargate Universe was canceled on a science fiction/fantasy network to make room for wrestling.

Fox is also the network who cancelled FireFly. They have more successful cancelled tv shows than any other network, and they refuse to sell the series rights to any other network. What are they doing?
