As season 3 of Burn Notice continues this week with it's second episode, Michael has a new foe in police detective Michelle Paxson, who becomes obsessed about discovering the truth about Michael. Detective Paxson is being played by Moon Bloodgood of Terminator: Salvation fame, and she was also on the short-lived series Journeyman as a time traveler.
USA Network has confirmed to TVOvermind that Moon has been signed for three episodes so far this season, starting with tomorrow night's "Questions and Answers." However, based on comments by creator Matt Nix in a recent interview, it seems like Moon Bloodgood just might be around for a few more episodes than three. Matt had this to say:
"Moon Bloodgood is our Burn Notice sort of arc character for the first bit of the season, and Ben Shenkman for the second bit."
Now, your guess is as good as mine on just what the first bit of the season means in episodes numbers. Nix went on to explain more detail of Moon's character saying,
"He [Michael Westen] ends up with Detective Paxson on his tail. And she’s a really good cop. And a lot of the resources that Michael would use against – or has used in past seasons against people that have come after him are not available to him with Detective Paxson. And they can’t really get any angles on her to blackmail her or get her off the case, and so Michael essentially has to convince her that they’re on the same side, which is difficult because Michael’s not really following proper legal procedure in taking care of problems for his clients, and yet at the same time, he is doing things that the Miami PD ought to appreciate."
Below is a preview clip from tomorrow's episode, showing Moon Bloodgood in action, and below that is a link to a Moon Bloodgood gallery to help you all get a little more acquanted with her.
