Review: Burn Notice Season 3 Premiere

bntease2Nothing says summer is here like beautiful bathing suit bodies, beaches, sunglasses, and a little C4.  That's right, just when you thought all the good television had ended until the fall, Burn Notice returns next week on USA Network with its season 3 premiere, and this season has promised to be hotter than ever.

The second season ended with Michael finally coming face to face with the people who had him burned, people known only as The Management.  They're purpose was to keep Michael in a position where he needed them, and thus would continue to do their dirty work.  But Michael Westen doesn't play those kinds of games, and as the finale wrapped up, he was given a way out.  They agreed to leave him alone, but promised that he'd regret that decision, as they'd also put him back on the radar, a place he's had the luxury of not being on for the past two season.  But in true Westen-style, Michael gave them their answer, as he jumped from the helicopter and began his long swim  back to Miami.

Season 3 picks up exactly where we left off, with an exhausted Michael swimming up on a Miami beach.  He's quickly chased down by the police and arrested.  It turns out that being under the protection of The Management had some added benefits, some of which included the cops not knowing much about him, but also that people all over the world, who would love to see him dead, now know where he is.

I won't spoil any more of the episode, but suffice it to say that it was excellent, and in true form for Burn Notice.  In fact, it wasn't until Michael's mother appeared on screen a ways into the premiere that I realized just how much I'd missed this show over the past several months.  Michael, Fiona, and Sam are back, but the danger is definitely been turned up a notch.  Now that Michael is being left alone it appears that he is going to running into a lot more people from his past, and they aren't going to be looking for his kindness and help.  They're going to be looking to kill him!

Burn Notice will premiere next Thursday, June 4 on the USA Network at its new time, 9/8 central.  Enjoy a few great promos for the upcoming season of Burn Notice below.

Can anyone decide how you are going to spell his name? I have seen 3 different spellings. I know a bit anal,,,,but this is the best series since Magnum, like to see it done consistantly, don't mind my spelling, I am not representing a hit series, that said would love a cameo. Let me know.

PS. Kill the ChaseDurer(SF Edition), a bit telling for someone who is suppose to be covert.

Haha! Love the PS comment, Shannon! Absolutely true.

I am always ready for my cameo, as well. Make me a good guy, though…
