Supernatural Review – Official Companion Season 4

No one is ever too old for picture books, and the Supernatural Official Companion Season 4 is full of pretty pictures. Plus text. But also pictures. The season guide will be released on August 24.

Supernatural Review – Official Companion Season 4The hit show from the producers of The O.C. and The X-FiIes, starring Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, continues its spooky road-trip through the dark heart of America.

Dean is freed from Hell and resurrected by the angels, but the Winchester brothers have to pay a high price for his life. Soon they find themselves pulled into the battle between angels and demons as they learn of the impending apocalypse. Along the way, Sam and Dean must also deal with a rugaru, a siren, ghouls, witches, the unusual return of the Trickster, and their own family’s past.

This official companion is packed with exclusive interviews, photos, behind-the-scenes secrets, a complete episode guide, plus a colour portrait gallery of the stars.

Season 4 is, overall, my favorite of the five seasons of the show. I loved the introduction of the angel mythology, especially Castiel, and the season had a lot of terrific episodes, including “Lazarus Rising”, “On the Head of a Pin”, “Monster Movie”, “Yellow Fever” and “The Monster at the End of This Book”. The list could go on, believe me. I’m not sure why the official season guide for season 4 was delayed, since season 5 is already complete, but it’s still a must-have for Supernatural fans.

The Companion features a summary of each episode, including episode trivia, behind the scenes information and excerpts from interviews of the actors, producers, writers and others on the crew. The book also features short essays on various demons and myths that appeared throughout the season, as well as summaries about the main characters and many of the recurring characters for season 4.

Overall the Companion is a fun read, with lots of interesting tidbits about the show and the storylines. If you’re a fan of the show, you should buy it.

You can also enter our contest to win one of three copies of the Companion, or one of three copies of the new original Supernatural novel “War of the Sons”. Read about our contest here.
