I am well aware that most of you have already seen this clip, as videos of the Castle panel at Comic-Con last Sunday are everywhere on the internet. However, ABC has just released the HD version of it and, honestly, it gave me chills all over again.
This. Is. Going. To be. Epic.
It seems we pick up merely minutes after the season 3 finale cliffhanger – where Beckett got shot, Castle tried to save her and proclaimed his undying love for her (okay, maybe not; but he did say he loves her!) – and the very first scene of the season 4 premiere, entitled “Rise”, is Kate being rushed into the hospital in a very critical condition. Lanie is propped up on the gurney doing CPR on her friend as Castle follows behind, clearly in shock.
Then Kate’s heart stops.
Fade to black.
How are we supposed to contain our excitement and/or anxiety until September, my fellow Castle fans? It’s a given she is going to survive (as you can see a few behind the scenes photos in the gallery below), but how everything is going to unfold is still a mystery. The big question here is if she is going to remember he told her he loved her and how that is going to affect the rest of the season.
Both Nathan Fillion and executive producer Laurie Zaks said during the press room at Comic-Con (you can watch their complete interviews here) that once that declaration of love is out, there’s no way “to put the genie back in the bottle”.
So what do you make of that, Castle fans?
I'm sure the first fifteen minutes will surpass the season finale,but will it continue once the time jump has taken place,I hope so. What I find more intriguing will be the struggle Castle will wage with the new captain to stay in the precinct,as she will have no allegiance to him or the mayor,and considers him a nuisance and a hazard to her officers. Will we have to wait more than one episode before Castle can join the team again or will it take longer.
Now I understand what AWM meant about moving the island.
Will it take Beckett more than one visit to the shrink before she remembers Castle's declaration of love or will we have to wait till the January sweeps.
This does sound like a completely convoluted storyline and if so, it does sound like fun.
And it is an ingenious and believable way to keep them apart a little longer, without slipping into the soap opera crap.
What happens after January, I can only hope AWM & CO make it as intelligent and believable as this appears to be.
See, now I feel the exact opposite on the subject of Beckett's possible amnesia in regards to Castle's declaration of love… I feel if the writers DO give her amnesia, it's like a cheap ploy! It's not fair. It's like the “#1 Fan” in the movie ‘Misery’ described her anger at the Saturday afternoon Matinee movie: last week it showed the car going OVER the edge of the cliff, then this week the good guy manages to stop the car *just* before it goes over… (paraphrasing here!) It's a cheat!
Castle FINALLY puts it out there for everyone to see, that he loves her. I think it would stink if they played the amnesia card, and basically pretended like it never happened!
But I'm totally with you on the upcoming struggle between Castle, (maybe Bennett as well? If they're going to be in a relationship, I mean…) & the new Captain. Anyone know who's playing her, BTW?

I just reeeeally like Castle. Let's not try and over annalize everything!
What if Beckett dies and Castle blame Josh for it not able to save her in the operation room and they fight it out.
Beckett's dad lost some body else he said.
Why not a twin sister twist, in that case they can give Beckett 2 a compleet other caracter and a compleet different turn to the show.
That would be fun.
I think it would b cool if beckett faked amnesia so she wont hve to deal with it rite now bt that would also suck for castle considering that he said I love you jst as she passed out and if he knew that she heard him. now that would jst suck. bt its only in 14days or 2wks and im so excited. I cant stop thinkin bout wats goin to happen this season. with their relationship where andrews goin to take that and how hes goin to deal with josh and beckett, alexis and beckett, castle and alexis, this is goin to be one heck of a season and i cant wait!!!!! im literaly dyin inside!!!!
