Castle Sneak Peeks: 4.15 "Pandora"

ABC has just released the clips for next week's Castle and I have to say, it looks like this two-parter will be really cool. Even though it seems to resemble a lot season 2's "Tick, tick, tick" and "Boom", this time, things look exponentially more dangerous.  In the first episode of this two-part "Castle" event, Castle and Beckett pursue a ruthless killer who is part of a sinister, international conspiracy. Castle and Beckett are joined on the case by Sophia Conrad (guest star Jennifer Beals, "The Chicago Code," "Flashdance"), a smart, sexy CIA operative who has a complicated past with Castle.

It seems like Agent Conrad used to be Castle's muse and, well, Beckett will not be happy with that. I thought it was great that she at least put it out in the open that she was uncomfortable with the situation. That's a first for a dear Kate, isn't it? I also thought it was awesome that they finally gave Alexis something to do and I really hope her internship with Lanie lasts for more than one episode.

Unlike these past few weeks, I am actually really looking forward to this two-parter and just hope that something significant will come out of it. After all, it's been six episodes since something big happened, so let's keep our fingers crossed that this one will deliver something good. And with a rather suggestive title like "Pandora", I think it's safe to assume that something big is going to go down.

An all new Castle is scheduled to air next Monday, February 13, at 10pm on ABC.

Oh, so she's jealous and bitchy and then she's being honest so Castle humors her and she's flattered. I'm loving this :) PS, it better it's true what you said about you and her, Castle.

  2. Samantha says:

The 2 parter, here's how I see it going in a nutshell –
Beckett will be jealous (again), they will almost die (again), they will talk/make a wee bit of progress (again) which will be forgotten at the end of the episode (again), and the next episode will be fluff and events of the 2 parter will be forgotten.

Let's not forget Sophia will tell either Castle or Beckett by episodes end that he/she should be would the other and there's something there yada yada yada.
For someone who says they don't like to play the same beat, Marlowe has done so. If I sound pessimistic it's because Mr. Marlowe & Co. have put me in the position to be.

    • James says:

Jeez, you sound bitter. If the show is so predictable and frustrates you that much you can always, I don't know, turn it off? why are you watching Castle then?

      • Samantha says:

Good question. I ask myself that often these days.
A huge reason I stay, because I've become such a fan of Stana Katic and her acting. I also don't like to quit something before its over, so I'll keep watching until the end of the season. Assess and see if I'll come back for another season (barring ABC green lights it – I think they will though).
Hope that answers your question James.

PS: Ive seen a lot of posts on many a message boards that are saying the same about the 2 parter *and* who are frustrated with the show. So should they all stop watching as well? You realize that if those who criticize & are frustrated to the point of not watching anymore ratings will drop & lead to quicker cancellation right?

        • James says:

I could say the same about finding many posts on many message boards from people who are pretty content with the direction of the show but this is not the point here, my only complaint is about dishing an episode you haven't seen yet. Why not wait till the episode airs and then pass major judgement? I started watching Castle this season after I did a two week marathon of the first three seasons and I'm loving the small changes we're seeing in their relationship this season, I think that even though they still have many issues to deal with before jumping into bed together that they're already committed to each other. It's just a matter of time.

          • Samantha says:

You watched all 3 season at once, I watched them as they aired staring from season 1, episode 1 ….. maybe that's why my opinion is different. You didn't sit through spoilers and interviews w Marlowe where he promised and promised things that he hasn't made good on yet.

Your correct I shouldn't judge but I can't help that I'm cynical. Marlowe made me this way as it pertains to this show and thus far this season he's done nothing to sway my attitude. Sorry but that's just the way I feel.

I see interviews re: this 2 parter and I'm having a weird case of deja vu or like I'm in the real life version of Groundhog Day.

This may sound a$$ backwards but I'm looking forward to the episode. 1. Because of that short clip w Jennifer Beals; she sold me on her character possible feelings for Castle in mere seconds.
            2. Because we get to see Alexis involved more in the show, having her intern w Lanie. 3. I hope that my skepticism is proven wrong. I want that the most.

Again I hope this answers your questions James.

PS: "Getting together" has different meaning for every fan. Personally it doesn't mean jumping into bed; not at all because C/B aren't ready for that at all.

          • neo says:

Unfortunately I'm completely with you, both in your pessimism and your wish being proven to be wrong. Sadly in an E!Online Q&A Stana denied that there will be any movement in the two parter, Ausiello, who always "suggests" something answered that the cliffhanger has nothing to do with revealing at least one of the secrets – so at least we are not showered with promises.

And as much as I love that Beckett finally voiced her problem instead of "subtexting" or hiding it, I disliked that THIS is the problem what the writers felt so important and I disliked Castle's apologetic and embarrassed reactions. Man up boy, you are a single, rich, handsome man, don't be a doormat!

BTW James: "they're already committed to each other". Do we see a different show? When did Beckett commit herself to Castle? Except of course in AWM's interviews, but as far as I know she can't read them.

          • JoeJ. says:

Hahaha, now I understand why you are so glad.
Me,I'm on board from four years,I have read and watch a lot,a lot of promises and reminder that this would be a different show, not another Bones.
And i have watched the show losing its strenght, but as a loyal fan I aways hope it could get back on the right track…
Meet me here between one or two years and then we'll see your words (if you are still following of course).

          • josé says:

i agree 100%… i think are forgetting something..what will be your relationship with someone yu love if…beckett and castle have they powerful secrets to live with them?…i want to believe that the flirting is lost because of this…who always take the first step in the other season? Castle of course..and that it was good for beckett because she answer of that flirting time to time..but now Castle was disapointed with beckett about she told him that she won't remember..and he have the secret for the investigation of her mother too..the flirting is waiting for 5ª season after a last episode of 4ª season put them apart again for sure…

            p.s. sorry my english :(

        • lame says:

In your first entry you forgot to mention that doctor motorcycle boy would be the person to resuscitate them.
LOL, I couldn't help it, you have such a cynical out look for this series, and although I understand where your coming from and do agree with you on the tempo of the relationship, it's AWM's story to tell.
Yeah, I agree There's lack of continuity, it is crazy that the flow in the relationship disappears altogether at times and the DD seem like there back in season one, or have long term memory loss, but it's not our story.
Quit beating yourself up, and sit back and observe the ride, if you can't enjoy it. And this is coming from someone who has ripped AWM from time to time.

  3. Gianna says:

The look Sophia gives Rick ….. chemistry personified. Can she stay, pleeeeese?!?!?

  4. lame says:

Look, just cool your jets until we see Pandora. Andrew Marlowe is becoming Ausiello, he said the kiss between Joe and Vera would rival the one on Knockdown, OH REALLY!!! Let's hold our fire until we see the whites of their eyes.

    • lame says:

You're right Luc, the fact that KB actually expressed some jealousy, verbalizing her fear of RC dealing with another clever, intelligent woman is a huge step forward. I'm guessing it may not be enough for some shippers and it may be as far as this episode goes, but lets wait until the story unfolds. After all this is what many have been asking for; to have the DD talk things out.

    • Guest says:

Maybe he was talking about the kiss between Lanie's character and Castle's.

      • lame says:

Was that as passionate as Knockdown??????

        • lame says:

Just saw "The Blue Butterfly" again, that ending is perhaps the funniest thing I've seen on TV in a very long time. Joe and Vera are laughing, kissing and go running off into the night as two bodies are roasting in that car right behind them. Talk about cold blooded.
