Well, looks like Castle will have to fight someone other than Dr. Motorcycle Boy for Detective Kate Beckett's attention. TV Guide has just revealed that Lie to Me star Brendan Hines is going to play Alex Conrad, a protegé of sorts of our favorite mystery writer. In the upcoming episode (3.21) entitled "The Dead Pool", Castle will invite newbie writer Alex to the precinct so he can play mentor to the young novelist. Turns out, though, that Alex will only have eyes for Beckett, hanging on her every word.
As our dynamic duo investigates a swimming star's murder, Castle becomes increasingly bothered by the fact that Kate decides to share information with the young author. That obviously brings out Castle's jealousy and I really hope he actually does something about it now. I don't know about you guys, but this storyline sounds awfully familiar, doesn't it? Is it just me or is this going to be like the Nikki Heat episode, but backwards?
Maybe this is the push Castle needs to try and move his relationship with his muse forward. If Josh is still around, then that will just make things a lot more interesting for us and confusing for Beckett.

Agree with Tennisdude, as much as i love seeing him jealous, it happens to often. Give Beckett her turn, its only fair after all :) Hopefully he will act on it and then the writers will have to stop writing jealous Castle.
As s HUGE Lie to Me fan, I couldn;t be more thrilled to see that Hines is guest-starring on Castle. Both shows made my monday nites the tv highlight evenings of the week. Castle has been renewed for next year, but us LTM fans are hanging by a thread, waiting for news from Fox about a 4th season.
A jealous Beckett makes for a great show, I loved the Nikki Heat and Tick, Tick, Tick episodes where she is so jealous. The jealous Castle is a little creepy and annoying, almost stopped watching the show that day because he got on my nerves acting all psycho. I'd like to see more of jealous Castle from Season 1 Episode 9, he was jealous but yet keept it cool. For an episode idea I'd like to see a new hot detective trying to steal Rick Castle from Beckett, just as we will see a new writer trying to sweep her away from Castle.
