I have to say that ABC decided to grace us Castle fans with an onslaught of new information this week as the promotional photos for the episode that will kick off the highly teased about Mayor's arc, "Dial M for Mayor" were released last night and today ABC has released the sneak peeks for next week's episode, "Till Death Do Us Apart" - which we will post shortly, so stay tuned. All in all, it has been a fantastic birthday present for me, so I really appreciated it, ABC.
But let's talk about this already infamous mayor's arc that will supposedly put Beckett and Castle on opposite sides of the fence again. This time however, the prime suspect on the case they are investigating will be the mayor and that will just put them at odds, since Castle is really good friends with Mayor Weldon.
Putting it like that, it sounds like a do over of last season's episode, "The Final Nail", which had this exact same plot. Except in "Dial M for Mayor" the stakes will be a lot higher, considering that the Mayor himself is responsible for Castle's presence at the Twelfth Precinct. So if he falls, then Castle's arrangement to follow Beckett around will no longer be valid, which could bring some interesting issues up between our favorite duo.

The same fallout it was for the undercover kiss, for the Josh arc, for the "talk", for the last time this premise was used … absolutely nothing!
It was best said by someone from the ABC boards in the continuity article … Some episodes end with seemingly significant moments and there is no follow up to them. Things seem to be done for effect, to have an impact on the viewer, rather than having a lasting impact on the characters”.
I know, right? But let's hope there is at least some forward movement this season, otherwise it'll sink the show.
I agree with Gigi , the lack of continuity is killing the show for me. And this season a lot of fans are running out of patience and giving up on the show. I mean you have a great episode like cops and robbers and then they followed it with the atlantic city one (with almost no interaction between our DD, which for me , for that reason was the worst episode ever) . The writers and producers really need to bring their A game for this second half of the season .
If the writers want to make it interesting then they would make the mayor be guilty. It would put Beckett on the spot to stick up for Castle to keep him around, since I think Castle has used up all of his arsenal of charms on Gates. They pretty much let Beckett off the hook at the beginning of the season and made Castle do the leg work of getting back in. Make Beckett do the work this time. Gates would have no problem kicking him out, would probably relish doing it in fact. Likeliness of this scenario happening, however, is slim. I give it a 30% chance.
Sounds like some fans are becoming impatient. But really,with the exception of heartbreak hotel, the other episodes do have a symmetry to them. AWM has always moved the C/B arch slowly. I get the feeling fans are restless because the relationship took some unexpectedly long leaps at the start of season four and now we''re back inching along.
Wait for the second half of the season, I'm sure you will see noticeable progress between the DD. That is until the shippers start screaming foul when 4.14 airs. Come on Andrew, a kiss, in a story, imagined by RC, doesn't advance the relationship, it only frustrates shippers. And I'm afraid you will hear their wrath.

I loved it. Thought it was really fun and lighthearted, but in a way I guess I was expecting more? I don't know. I liked it, but it wasn't a top episode for me. It was just classic Castle, you know? And don't even get me started on this noir episode. I am seriously dreading it, you have no idea.
I think because of episodes 401,4.05 and 4.07,which seemed to set the C/B relationship on a faster track; fans were expecting some sort of commitment. The fact that they haven't seen it yet , could be the reason for discontent.
I guess AWM & CO dangling the carrot in front of fans for too long can remind them of the crap they got from Bones. That said I don't think anyone expects a proposal, just and acknowledgement from the DD that they are more than buddies.
We keep getting hints that this will happen, but until it does, I think TPTB can expect this reaction.
Hmm, i have to agree… that noir episode, interesting concept but AWM seemed to be talking about another kiss, but i hope its not this noir episode as i dont think fans can deal with another fake/cover up kiss… but im excited for this, been a while since a new ep!
I have this odd feeling that we are being set up. I'll bet that 4.11 will be the start of the relationship moving to the fast track. I'll bet that from now till 4.22, shippers will be in harmony heaven. Enjoy the ride from now till April.
After last night’s epi, while funny and somewhat entertaining, is losing focus on it’s main characters and the interaction betwEen them. AM is trying to jam too much into one episode to do that. Maybe AM needs a vacation to recharge his creativity.
