Earlier today we reported on the fact that Dollhouse had been canceled by Fox, but the network had committed to airing all 13 episodes for season 2.

Poor Joss Whedon.  He just can't catch a break.  Fox recently annouced that Dollhouse was being pulled from its schedule during November sweeps and people were disappointed.  I suspect they'll be even more disappointed with the news that the network has officially canceled the show.

They are currently filming episode 11 of their 13 episode order,  and according to EW, Fox will likely air all 13 of the completed episodes before removing the show from the schedule.

DVD ratings for week 3 of the fall season (Oct 5 – 11) are in and Smallville and Dollhouse have reached the top spot yet again.  For week three Dollhouse received a little more than 40% increase (it actually hit 50% increase for its premiere episode) which is definitely good news for the beleagured show.  Although the boost doesn't do a whole lot in regard to the actual overall ratings, for a show like Dollhouse, its certainly going to help.

Oh. My. God.

Dollhouse was phenomenal last night. Words cannot describe the mind rush I got while viewing the show and I just want to say to all the naysayers: If you still feel that Dollhouse is not going anywhere story wise, then there is something seriously wrong with you in the department of storytelling.

Sierra’s backstory answered a lot of questions, posed more questions in the process, and almost clearly laid part of the foundation for “Epitaph One”.

I don't know what can be done to save Dollhouse. Languishing in the ratings cesspool on Friday nights, Michael Ausiello has announced via Twitter that Dollhouse will be shelved by Fox during the all-important November sweeps period, replaced by reruns of House and Bones:

Exclusive: Hearing FOX will bench DOLLHOUSE for November sweeps and air back-to-back eps on Friday night in December.

The Futon Critic reports that Dollhouse will return in December showing two episodes per night, apparently burning off the remaining episodes.

Because I adore Joss Whedon, Dollhouse is one of those shows that I know I should watch more often and I promise I'm going to sit down and watch the entire first season the moment I can find a free weekend.
