CBS has officially picked up new seasons of The Amazing Race and Undercover Boss, as reported by Deadline. Neither show was in danger of being canceled, as Race is up slightly from this time last year and Boss is doing some very respectable business at 9:00. The 19th installment of The Amazing Race will make its debut in fall, likely in the same Sunday at 8:00 timeslot it has enjoyed for quite some time, while it will be the 3rd season for former Super Bowl leadout Undercover Boss. CBS has found a strong family friendly bit of reality synergy on Sunday nights, so I'd be a little surprised to see the two shows split up on the new schedule, despite how formidable they are on their own.
The renewal comes after new episodes aired Sunday night that featured some seriously bitter tea tasting from the eight remaining teams and an executive from a waste water treatment corporation getting his feet wet in the lower ranks of his company, but sadly, you'll have to wait another two weeks to find out who makes the top 6 and which executive will be enlightened next. Next week CBS will be airing the Academy of Country Music Awards from 8:00-11:00.
Have you been watching either show this season? Who's your favorite Race team? What was your favorite Boss episode? Do you think they should keep airing together on CBS's schedule? Do you think this season of Race will make it eight Emmys in nine tries or have they lost their mojo?
