Two and a Half Men: Angus T. Jones Officially Highest Paid Kid In Hollywood

Do we have a mini Charlie Sheen on our hands?

According to TMZ and The Hollywood Reporter, Angus T. Jones, who makes up the "Half" in Two and a Half Men, is now the highest paid kid in Hollywood at the moment with a reported $300,000-per-episode contract, which was filed by the Los Angeles Superior Court due to Jones' status as a minor. This deal features a guaranteed $7.8 million for the next two seasons of Two and a Half Men plus a $500,000 signing bonus, which puts most child and adult  TV stars salaries to shame.

To teen/kid TV stars, this makes Jones the 'Charlie Sheen of the tween set' since he has surpassed all other Disney and Nickelodeon stars combined in payday rates. His last payday featured $250,000 per episode, which was still a pretty decent margin over his teen counterparts. THR reports that the next highest paid child star behind Jones is Miranda Cosgrove for her iCarly role on Nickelodeon, with her current payday at $180,000 per episode, which is a huge difference from Jones current and past paycheck.

Charlie Sheen is reportedly getting $2 million-per-episode which is a bump from his previous $800,000 salary for working on the CBS comedy. Sheen's deal, according to TMZ, could draw in $98 million dollars when all the additions, bonuses, and possible bells and whistles. Are you sick yet?

Sheen and Jones' salaries brings back the salary disputes of yesteryear with the most recent one being the stars of Law & Order: SVU, Mariska Hargitay and Christopher Meloni, holding out on resigning their contracts until they got a raise in their already lucrative salaries. Hargitay is still the highest paid woman on primetime television drama with $395,000, the same salary Meloni receives. The women of Desperate Housewives (Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross, Eva Longoria-Parker, and Teri Hatcher) each reign as the highest paid women in primetime television comedy with $400,000 paydays. Hugh Laurie gets the same amount for his role on House.

Now the highest paid person in television period? Oprah Winfrey. (As if you really had to guess...)

So what do you guys think about Angus T. Jones' pay rate? Is the kid insanely lucky? Or ridiculously overpaid?

The kid will need it for rehab and lawyers to keep him out of jail.

      Could not agree more!!!!

Sad, but the obvious for most that hit it big at this age or any age for that matter. Its a straight shot to rehab!

Angus is a very talented young man that happens to be on very popular, lucrative television show. His salary reflects the success of the show. If it were mediocre, he would be making a mediocre salary. Why should the producers and CBS make all of the money? It's the cast, crew and writers that have made this show the success that it is. with that said, I hope that Angus has a good support system from his family. He will need it to keep his feet planted firmly. CC nin Phoenix Also, it's a shame that Charlie doesn't recognize that he couldn't have done it alone. CC in Phoenix…

Everyone on the show "Two and a half Men" is super. It is an ensemble cast, and I hope that a

replacement can be found for Charlie Sheen—-he was great, but does not seem interested in

the show any more, other that helping the cast and crew—

    • Steve says:

"helping the cast and crew—"?!  It's because of Sheen that the cast lost out on finishing the season in the first place!

  7. pat says:

Angus is the best cast actor in history

I have often, since day 1, thought he should have had more lines

He is and has always been perfect for the roll

  8. kristin says:

I think he is a great actor and deserves to get paid well. He hasnt been into any trouble yet, which is good. I just hope he doesnt do anything stupid like miley cyrus, lindsay lohan, even the olsen twins…mayb its just a girl thing

  9. Karen says:

Angus has proven to be an excellent actor from the start of the show. He deserves the salary he receives. I look forward to see him grow in his career.

  10. Ryan Eaglen says:

Do you mainstream execs really think this is the future of tv??? He is the worst character I've ever had to put up with…. I would rather fold laundry than see him act… If it wasn't for Charlie and Jon, I wouldn't waste my time watching the show. Jake is an idiot and portraying the future of America to people as Jake is horrifying !!!

Get rid of the retard and step up the show with Charlie and Jon Cryer!!!!!!!

  11. jms50s says:

I would like to see Angus with his own show he is the only reason I watch two and a half men.

  12. Kathy Bloom says:

Angus T. Jones has been the best part of Two and a Half Men from the beginning.  He is a brilliant actor.  Hopefully he has strong family ties that will keep his head on straight and out of trouble. I think we will see more of him in the future with or without Two and a Half Men.  If you think about it…. it's not two and a half men anymore it's much closer to three.  They may have to rethink the whole show should it continue.  As far as Charlie Sheen is concerned, there are many good looking actors out there who could easily take his place.

  13. lin333 says:

I think Angus is not a very good actor, and is seriously overpaid. He has lost his cuteness and I question his sustainability in this industry. He will certainly have more $ than most, but I believe, and I could be wrong, that he just lucked out with this role.
