These days, I'm having trouble telling whether or not Donald Trump is taking himself seriously. The man's ego is running unchecked through the 2012 Presidential race, making a huge mess and leaving people wondering if anyone views the man as a serious presidential contender (I don't).
Trump's been in the news for his savage attacks on President Barack Obama, though his path of self-destruction has begun to include pretty much anyone who disagrees with him. SNL writer and actor Seth Meyers fell under Trump's fire after Meyers made jokes about Trump at the White House Correspondent's Dinner, while actor Robert de Niro's very intelligence was called into question by Trump after de Niro called Trump's birther rhetoric "crazy" and "awful."
Now, Trump has burned bridges with Late Show host David Letterman. Trump was slated to appear on Letterman's show on Wednesday, May 18, though Trump cancelled after Letterman questioned whether Trump's attacks on Obama were racially motivated.
Trump retaliated with a letter to Letterman which -- somehow -- ended up in the New York Post.
"I was disappointed to hear the statements you made about me last night on your show that I was a 'racist'. In actuality, nothing could be further from the truth and there is nobody who is less of a racist than Donald Trump. Based upon your statements, and despite the fact that we have always done so well together, especially in your ratings, I am canceling my May 18 appearance on your show."
The entire letter -- including Trump's snide "especially in your ratings" comment -- just proves why Trump shouldn't be taken seriously as a presidential contender. His diplomatic policy is just awful.
Trump is a laughing stock and doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell to even be considered as a serious presidential candidate.
He sends a letter in which he refers to himself by name rather than in the first person? Rather telling. More evidence that his self-absorption alone make him unfit for office.
To hell with Donald Trump, Obama will get my vote for the 2012 election because he brought down Bin Laden when no president since before Clinton was ever able to do. Obama is the ONLY president to utilize the military to its full extent to exact American Justice on the man that ordered the murder of 4,000 or more innocent people, who had done nothing more than be born into a country that he declared Jihad against. I didnt exactly see Donald Trump putting his billions into finding Bin Laden and taking him down, which he could've done and did not and it wouldnt have taken 10 years to put him down.
