Chuck Season 4 News & Promo Photos (Casting Spoilers Inside!)

Hello fellow Chucksters!  We are a mere nineteen days away from the return of everyone's favorite accidental spy show, Chuck!  It's been a busy summer of news leading into the show's fourth season.  We've already covered the major casting coup for Chuck's mother, a couple of the guest stars playing Greta -- the rotating Buy More manager/CIA agent, and a promo for the upcoming season.  Well, even more news has made its way to the interwebs, so let's cover it, shall we?

First, your favorite General and mine, General Beckman, will be around to be annoyed by Morgan's antics and Chuck and Sarah's love even more often than before.  Bonita Friedericy has been made a series regular this upcoming season.  It's funny, I didn't realize she wasn'ta series regular before this, but there you have it.  Personally, I have always thought the General's interactions with the team are quite funny, so the more General Beckman the better.

Second is some guest star casting news.  Lou Ferigno, the original Incredible Hulk himself, will play a bodyguard to ex-Victoria Secret model Karolina Kurkova's evil spy.  Casey, as we know, is a former military operative.  Evidently, when he left the military, he and some of his buddies got their A-Team on and formed their own group of soldiers for hire.  Casey must have wronged them in some way (by no doubt turning evidence on them when he joined the government), because they are now on the hunt for him!  Who is playing these merry military marauders?  The Odd Trio of former WWE wrestler Batista, long time "Hey, it's That Guy!" Eric Roberts (yes, brother of Julia) and Joel David Moore (Bones).  If that's not a big bowl of comedy, I don't know what is.

Next, is a major piece of casting news.  Chuck has always been styled as the story of a goofy James Bond, often paying homage to the tropes of those novels/movies, while skewing them slightly for comedic effect.  Well, what could be better than actually landing James Bond for the show?  Not much!  Now, now.  He may not be your preferred James Bond, but Timothy Dalton (The Living Daylights, License to Kill), has signed on for a multiple episode arc as a mysterious man linked to Chuck's mother.  Who is he?  I have no idea, but two theories come to mind.  One, he's the man who lured Mama Bartowski away into whatever secret spy world she's functioning in, or two, what if he were Chuck's real dad?  Now, I'm hoping the latter doesn't come to fruition, because it would somewhat negate the relationship between Chuck and Stephen Bartowski (and before you flame me in the Comments section, I know very closely that an adoptive parent can have an equally strong bond with a child as a biological parent), but it would still be a great twist!

Finally, if you're into this kind of thing, the tiles of the first few episodes of the season have been leaked.  They are:

4.01 - Chuck vs. the Anniversary
4.02 - Chuck vs. the Suitcase
4.03 - Chuck vs. the Cubic Z
4.04 - Chuck vs. the Coup d'Etat
4.05 - Chuck vs. the Couch Lock
4.06 - Chuck vs. the Aisle of Terror
4.07 - Chuck vs. the First Fight

Oh, one more thing!  Below is a gallery of photos released for the upcoming fourth season premiere.  There's nothing spoilery in them (especially if you've read everything linked above!), but everyone is looking great for Season Four!  What do you think of all this news?  Please leave your comments, questions and theories below or in the Chuck Forum.  I'll be back on September 13th with a recap of where we were last season, and where we're going on September 20th.  Until then, I'm off to Hulk up!
