The Colbert Report Announces Concert Series Beginning Tonight

Listen up, Colbert Nation, because do I have some news for you.

Starting tonight, The Colbert Report will be kicking off a week jam packed with new music, as each new show this week (Monday-Thursday) will feature a performance by an awesomely talented, well-respected musician. Appearing will be Bon Iver (tonight), Florence & the Machine (Tuesday), Talib Kweli (Wednesday), and The Black Belles (Thursday). Interestingly enough, The Black Belles will be joined by Stephen, so let your imagination go wild at that possibility.

Each performer is scheduled to do two songs, with the second appearing on colbertnation.com, which is where you can check out anything and everything related to The Rev. Sir Dr. Stephen T. Colbert, D.F.A. It’s not been announced what songs each will be performing.

The Colbert Report has never shied away from music, which resulted in their Grammy-winning Christmas special A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All! that featured John Legend singing about nutmeg and Willie Nelson singing about “little dealer boy”. The show has also featured performances from the likes of Cee-Lo Green, Nas, and The Roots, among many others.

Will you be attending “Dr Pepper Presents StePhest Colbchella ‘011: Rock You Like A Thirst-icane’? Which performer are you looking forward to the most? Who would you like to see perform on The Colbert Report in the future?
