Ginny Di and Christina Dark are, as you can already guess, professional cosplayers that are currently at the top of their game and have used the social media platform Patreon to help their ascent. Both Di and Dark have impressive followings that are currently helping them to create more more and designs to produce images of fan favorite characters that are able to satisfy those same people that will gladly support this art style.
What Patreon does is take pledges from those that wish to donate their money towards the gear and designs used by professional cosplayers to help them create new and more innovative designs incorporating fan favorites and unique works of art that fans love to see. It might seem like you’re really supporting the cosplay lifestyle and as a result make you feel that you’re allowing someone to play on your dime, but in reality you’re paying for their services in a way.
They use the gear and costumes that your money buys to come up with a new design that fans can’t wait to see at conventions or other events. They get paid when they come up with a design that is considered a fan favorite, so in truth it’s a lot of work. Much like your favorite artists they have to get their look just right or they don’t get paid.
