Cult Preview: The Mysterious New Show Premieres in February on The CW

The CW's new midseason drama, Cult, is unlike any show you've seen before.  It wouldn't be a stretch to say that it's meta.  It's very, very meta.  And it's very, very mysterious.

The series stars Matt Davis as journalist Jeff Sefton.  Jeff is approached by his brother, who is worried that he's being stalked as a result of his investigation into a television show called Cult.  Jeff is skeptical, but when his brother goes missing he decides to look into the situation, along with some help from the show's research assistant, Skye (Jessica Lucas).   They soon start to realize that the show's fans are a very dedicated group of people who might be taking the themes of the series a little too far.

That's one of the storylines in the show.  The other actually takes place within the show "Cult".  That series revoles around a detective (played by Alona Tal) who is trying to bring down a cult leader named Billy Grimm (Robert Knepper).  The actors who play these characters also interact with Jeff and Skye and may/may not have knowledge of what's happening behind the scenes.

It all sounds rather confusing, but it's actually pretty straightforward when you watch the series itself.  The CW has announced that the show will debut in February on Tuesday nights and has released an in-depth preview.  For more on the show, read our interviews with the cast at Comic-Con.  We also visited the Vancouver set of the show in September and will bring you more interviews in early 2013.

Cult will premiere on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.  Watch a preview below.
