After this weekend's Comic Con Ringer panel and press room we know a little bit more about this mysterious new CW show that brings Sarah Michelle Gellar back to television (for Clarissa's report on the press room and panel head here and here). There was an extended promo shown at Comic Con that can be viewed below which reveals who each of the main characters are and what their motivations might be. There is still a big element of mystery though so expect more questions than answers.

It certainly has got me rather excited for Sarah Michelle Gellar's big return to the small screen and to tease things even more The CW have released a new poster. First posted exclusively by Entertainment Weekly it shows the dual role that Gellar will be portraying on the show.

One thing that can be clear from this marketing campaign is that even though Ringer was once a CBS show it now has The CW stamp all over it. The poster has the sleekness of a Gossip Girl campaign with the New York skyline in the background and a slightly provocatively dressed Gellar in the foreground. Gellar has also compared Ringer to one of her former projects Cruel Intentions which in part can be seen as an influence on the Gossip Girl world. The tagline "The Ultimate Double Cross" is snappy and reveals that the stakes are high with the deception levels in Ringer with the twin characters at the center of the story. As the promo shows it is not just Bridget/Siobhan that are keeping secrets so this can also apply to those other regulars such as Ioan Gruffudd, Kris Polaha and former Lost star Nestor Carbonell.
